    American? ;)
    Get your countries right please!

Also, who are you talking about regarding the money? Swedish people could not possibly have a lot of money now could they? I mean this is the most socialistic country on earth...AND we pay close to 50% in Taxes. Where would we then get all the money that would make us SO happy?

Anyways, I was born in Europe *SWEDEN* to be exact, not Switzerland. I am 30 years old, have spent more than a few weeks in this part of the world (Europe) and I think I know what I am talking about here :)
I think it is important to understand the issue and the difference between religion and tradition when it comes to Europe. For most part, Europeans go to church only when they are forced to do so. It could be for a wedding, christening or a funeral.
Europeans tend to be all about tradition, and religion is a huge part in keeping up with tradition. However, unless you live in Italy, Ireland, Spain or some of the Muslim countries (Turkey for example) religion will not play a very big part of your life.

I grew up in a Christian family. My mom worked for the church and I attended Church based playgroups and youth groups. We never, ever went to church unless we absolutely had to. Even the people that are “religious” never attend church on a Sunday. This is true for most European countries.

What I find absolutely disgusting here in America, is how commercial the churches are. It is all about the money and it makes me sick. What I find even more disgusting, is how the American people can be so incredible blind to the situation. The Church is run by greed, not by the love of Religion.

hey! sweden, being a social welfare state makes it more likely that it's citizens are educated/informed. don't ridicule americans who are so disenfranchised/ignorant/uneducated that they vote to continue the viscious cycle that they are caught in. it's called patriotism. consider yourself lucky to not be a citizen of the greatest nation the world has ever known...

Which church are you talking about? The Church of America? I'm not familiar with this church you speak of.

For all the talk about how certain posters here like to stereotype and paint all Muslims with a broad brush etc etc etc., I sure do see the same thing being done with Christianity a lot here and it hardly ever gets challenged.

For the record, I find typing "Mrs. Master Baiter" odd and amusing at the same time.

    Tell me about it...

I tend to go with Mrs.MB

Also, MB created this BBS account when we started dating. "Masters Flickvän" is "Masters Girlfriend" in Swedish. I wish I could change my name.

Actually they do, as long as the other country doesn't mind. When you get your citizenship, they don't make you drop the citizenship of the other country, but you might not be able to renewal your passport for the other country later.
