Uh, is there a difference? If the next tackle could put you in a wheelchair, then you probably shouldnt play anymore. Just my take.
Damn, that sux...Good guy and even better athlete...ONly time will tell, but if you need a second and third opinion to continue to play, you should probably hang em' up...
I wonder if anybody has ever done a study on just how many injuries are directly related to football helmets. I say the NFL should go back to the good ole' leather helmets...
i saw on msn.com that it isn't going to end his career, just his season. i had a tumor on a lumbar in my lower back. you can take them out and get back to close to full strength, but it may take some time. it took me almost 2 years to get back to about 90%. it cost me 2 years of HS basketball though. but i'm not a pro athlete, i'm sure he'll be back in less than a year.
I always think it's funny when someone suffers from a life-threatening injury and people are more worried about how their fantasy football will be affected. Maybe it's just because I've never played fantasy anything and don't really see the big deal. But come on. Dude could die or be paralyzed. You don't need to fall all over yourselves praying or anything like that, but still. Just seems kind of crass.
Reason # 413 why I'm a bad person. On my fantasy football team, I don't have Preist Holmes. But I've have Larry Johnson all year, waiting for this moment. So an evil-little part of me is actually thrilled. Gosh. That's so wrong.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I wouldn't say I'm thrilled, I would much rather it be just a sprained ankle or something that will heal after the season.
In Australia we had a young Rugby League prop forward who was hit in a head high tackle and knocked out. When they did scans they found he had a brain tumor and they had to perform emergency surgery straight away. He lived through the surgery, but he wasnt badly effected by it for a long time.
