hotballa, I don't understand your stance on this. Aren’t there a hundred other Disney restaurants that are kid-friendly? Who cares if ONE is adults-only? How many kids want to eat at an uppity 7-course restaurant like this anyway? How many adults actually want to take their kids to a place like this?

Reminds me of that Cosby Show episode when Cliff takes Rudy and her little friends to that real nice restaurant and they all hate it because they can’t order hamburgers with catsup - so they end up stopping at a fast food place on the way home.

:D I don't know why I'm being so stubborn about this. I guess its the stupidity of the idea that the 10 yar old will be better behaved than the 9 year old.

Pirc1 said it better, how would you even prove this?

A hell of a lot of parents don't have any sense. That's the root cause of all of this. Sure, I see plenty of well-behaved kids, but I also see a *****-ton of whiny brats running amok while their parents do absolutely nothing. I see this all over the place....not just nice restaurants.

The last time I was at Disney World, I was 14 and with my mom. Just me and her. I was shocked at all the parents lugging around exhausted kids who were fast asleep either in a stroller or being carried by equally exhausted-looking moms and dads. It was apparent to me that while a lot of people think of Disney as a place for young children, it really isn't all that appropriate a place for them.

Were I to ever have kids, I'd wait until they were AT LEAST ten years old before I ever would consider a vacation to anything Disney.

thats the thing though, it isn't adults only. it only bans kids under 10 years old.

who is forcing anyone to eat at this restaurant??

if it's such a bad idea, the restaurant will fail because no one will show up.

i assure you that won't happen though...because i don't see people bringing their kids in there anyway.

Lots of businesses hold conferences there too. Although you're an idiot of you eat on disney property on your own dime in that case.

you mean like proving you're 13 to get into a PG-13 movie?

I forgot to add another point brought up by that article I read. Disney does have some adult-oriented areas/businesses. Particularly it's very own bars and nightclubs.

I'm personally waiting for a Disney strip club w/ dancers wearing the Donald Duck costume (no pants, right?) before I venture towards that area.

There's an area called Pleasure Island. It's bars and clubs. It's restricted to 21 and up.

At last check, Disney is the number one honeymoon destination in America. Those folks don't give a rat's ass about whether your 6 year old can eat in the harp music-filled $125/plate seven-course meal along with them.

And I'm the father of two boys...one is 7 the other is 3. I wouldn't take either near this restaurant, and neither would want to be there.

yeah kinda like that, how does one prove that they're 13 anyway? school id?

side note: the pg-13 rating is uselss. i think movies should be rated R or PG and under

the point is it's irrelvant. perhaps there's an honor system, like most places when you're talking about those sorts of distinctions. i don't think they're overly concerned with the few 9 year olds slipping through the cracks.

So what are you complaining about then? Are you angry because they allow 10 year olds, but not 9 year olds?

Dude, where do you take your wife for your anniversary dinner? Chuck E. Cheese's? :D

hey now, I'm not angry, I just think it's stupid to do that on a family resort. if you don't want kids in there, then ban every kid and make it adults only.

and Cuck E. Cheese is too expensive, plus that giant rat freaks me out.

this is not a rule. unlike rated R movies, where a theater is suppose to ID a person to make sure they are 17, there is no such rule in place for 13 year olds and PG-13 movies. the PG-13 rating is only a "warning" to parents that kids under 13 may not be able to handle the content of a movie.

Absolutely NO problem with this. There are countless other places kids can enjoy themselves. Restaurants everywhere etc.

I was at DW this past summer, one of the better nights I had was at planet hollywood lawls.
