The MVP, Defensive player of the Year, and the Finals MVP.
We didn't have to pretend in 94.
    Instead of singing this song:

    LOLL
when you are pretending, you can't even say tmac=kobe.. kobe is that much better.

then you compared luis and landry together with just gasol
then you compared battier and ariza with just artest
twice, you used multiple players to compare with their single player and we are still losing the comparison.

i don't remember lakers having just 5 or 6 players. for ex. where is odom?

then you expect us to be not that far off from the lakers?

why not just pretend we won the cup and pretend to celebrate

you are saying tmac ages and loses speed but artest doesn't.

if you have seen artest from last year, you should know he has lost a step on defense. artest aged. and i mean he aged. completely aged. most guards blow by artest now. 100%. Completely. they own artest. artest gets owned...

He might be in great condition, however he'll have to play on the court for his stock to rise. We can't trade him for peanuts at the moment. If he averages 28ppg by the trade deadline, then trade him, because he'll be worth something then.

Maybe Ron Artest of a couple years ago could, but the Ron Artest I saw last year couln't keep up with anyone, no matter how slow they were, working off of a pick. I mean, he was HORRIBLE at guarding the PnR, which, you know, just happens to be the one play Tracy works off of more than any other. Ron would predictably be perenially stuck "trying" to get around the the picker, allowing TMac to take open jumpers or drive and dish all game long.

you know this statement actually DISSES artest right. tracy has not been 100% healthy for years since 04-05. and he has had MULTIPLE 40+ pt games v. artest (who was still a premier defender before this past year).

No offense man...when i read this i actually lol...First of all, ignore the magic days of tmac for a minute...kobe is just so much better than tmac right now that it is not even close anymore. Magic days, maybe near...but I would still consider kobe being better. Our pg postion has a distinct advantage as we saw last season, we are faster and arguebly better shooters. But all other postions we are screwed...artest...maybe can be out weighed by ariza. Gasol, bynam would just kill our interiour defense and kobe would still put up 20+ over battier. Also u forot about odom. He may not be an allstar, but he is still good for 10+ points and 6+ rebounds consistantly. He is a damn matchup nightmere.

Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on our current team. If tmac comes back health, i truely believe we can make the playoffs (although I prefer not to as we would most likely be knocked out of the first round...rather have a high draft pick...just my personal opinion). We can compete with the suns and jazz and if we are really lucky, we might even make into the second round. But saying we are better than the lakers? Sorry man...got to disagree :D

really? I don't actually remember tmac having a 40+ point game against artest this past few years. I am not doubting you but i jsut don't remember. Didn't artest say Roy was the fist person to score 40 on him?

    PS sorry for double posting

You do realize this is houston, and we love the rockets, not the lakers, so why dont you move your &%$ back to LA and get on their nba team thread and talk about how great they are....because we here at clutch city really dont want to hear about how great the lakers are...they are lucky we were missing our two allstar players...oh and they almost got beat...hate em

so as a Rockets fan, if Kobe wanted to be traded to the Rockets and we give them Tmac would you do it?

this is like asking if you like oxygen in your air.

lol...that is like the funnist thing i heard all day...acutally since i am working on my assignment all day, that is the only funny thing i heard... :D

But yeah...admiting that kobe is a great player and better than tmac does not make someone any less of a houston fan, nor does admiting the lakers are better than the rockets...cause they are...not because the rockets as an organisation has done bad, but it is because we are just unlucky with injuries and ****. Somebody else mentioned that how everyone is kissing kobe's ass right now when he has won on a loaded team. You have to remember that he lead the lakers into the playoffs twice before gosal during a time that is arguebuly the most competitive in league history. The weast was loaded back then.

PS...thanks for pointing out that tmac score 40 against the kings. I don't think artest was guarding him though...well at least to my memory no the majority of time

ron will "sometimes" (like every 3 to 4 times they see each other) will really slow tracy down, but trust me, ron has never been known to slow tracy down consistently (and tracy has been pretty much injured the past 3 years).

so if he "feels" healthy, look for more 40 pt games v. ron.
