too bad he sucked for the Astros. really, i don't remember anyone defending Wilson when he was benched. but as soon as some other team picked him up, there's a huge uproar.

The guy who replaced him is batting 0.430 and leading the league in OPS.

its not necessarily defending wilson that is the uproar i believe, my defense is that it makes our rival a little bit stronger by adding veteran depth to their team. It was definitely obvious that it didn't work here, however not every player is for every team, some players perform better on different teams.

I believe they just shouldn't have outright released him, they should have traded him to the AL, even for a 10th rounder, the purpose would be so nobody in the NL can pick him up.

Cmon guys, the yankees and red sox do it all the time, they go after certain players so the other team can't get them, even though they may be horrible.

I'll tell you what sucks. It sucks when you trade a guy and he goes on to help your rival beat a team that just swept you at home.

Umm, you can't just do that. They put him on waivers and no one claimed him up. An AL would have had to claim him for them to make a trade.

He either eats up a roster spot or is released.

And? He could play 20 games and for 0-for-everything and still have a batting average higher than Wilson. And if he doesn't work, we still have Huff to put out there.

    Who would you have released?

I wouldn't have put the team in that position. if they wanted scott up here, they should could have done that to start the season, instead of being the usual ultra conservative selves in bringing up players. the deal isn't just about right now. the astros put themselves in a bad postion through moves that began before the season started.

They didn't want Scott up here. He got his chance because Wilson wasn't the power bat they had hoped for.

You can't seriously believe we're better off with Wilson over Scott, right?

There's a huge uproar because we're chasing TWO teams, and one of them happens to be the Cardinals. I'd much rather have Jason Lane playing for the Cardinals right now than Wilson, who's already had a monster day today.

I don't know that we'd be better off with Wilson over Scott, but the Red Birds look better with Wilson. :D They should have let J. Lane go before they cut Wilson, but I realize it was about the money.

yea, and if he had gone 0 for 4 (which is more likely) everyone would be jumping for joy that he's screwing up the Cards.
