BOTH Viz and Preston have gone deep tonight... uncanny! (but they're losing 10-6... Mulder still blows chunks for them)

But seriously... how bad of shape are the Cardinals in, when they have to sign offensive players that WE couldn't put up with anymore.

Seriously... anybody else starting to think that the Cardinals are a little too full of themselves? (coaching-staff wise).

Look at the following reclamation projects that they've signed/acquired this year alone:
    Jared Weaver
    Jorge Sosa
    Jose Vizcaino
    Preston Wilson

They're like the Rockets of MLB... except that they're somehow still in first place.

Cardinals are gonna get blasted in the playoffs, that team is BAD. Preston Wilson couldn't even crack the Astros lineup. They need to rebuild worse than we do. At least we have wealth of good young pitching.

that's what's so heartbreaking about this year. if we had just squeeked into the playoffs, and with our starting rotation, i feel we could have easily gone to the WS. well, the Mets may have been a big bump in the road but it sure would be fun, especially when it would have marked the 20 year anniversary the '86 series.

very true. we'll see how well pedro and glavine come back from injury. if they don't come back strong, then this this is even more up for grabs. disappointing the astros have been unable to find their way into that mix.

Preston made some highlight plays and still don't believe we waived him for Lane...Yeah, $$$, but c'mon...We just suck this year...

Do you think keeping Preston Wilson would have made us not suck? If not, why would we care if we kept him? We were not going to keep him next year regardless.

I was almost thinking the same line, and then I decided to look at his stats. He made a couple nice hits in a game, and people want to burn the house down. Forget his 0-8 the previous 3 games....

Also, this HR is against Trachsel, who's given up 23 so far this year....

Preston is better than Lane, but Lane did not clear waivers, so they pulled him back.

People continually forget that we made it to the World Series last year and were within one game of it two years ago, too.

    Clarification....
Jared Weaver is the younger brother who is kicking butt and taking names for LAA. Jeff Weaver is the older brother who is now pitching for the Cards and not doing too great.
