I've been reading this site a lot over the years, but don't post much because you guys seem to know a lot more than I do about this stuff. But I wanted to chip in about how excited I am about the team next year...good players, good teamwork, and good character. This will be a great team to watch next season. Although it is a bit off-topic, please lend your comments about my characterization of our rotation next season. It's hard to get a good Rockets conversation in Austin....too close to SA.

    Yao / Mutombo
    Swift / Howard / Baxter
    McGrady / Barry / Howard
    Wesley / Head
    Sura / James

I case anyone missed it, Marc Berman reported the deal for Swift is 4 year at max MLE with last year being player option. 5M, 5.4M, 5.8M, 6.2M

This is exactly what I figured. I didn't think Swift would lock himself up for 5 years. Now if he does well, he can reupp in 3 years. And for the rockets it's very little risk. Good deal all-around.

I was not able to attend the press conference. I would have gladly walked down three blocks to the Toyota center and taped the whole thing, taken pics, and scooped it all, but it was only open to the press.

I tell ya, we've got to get a connection over there to let me in the building and get some scoops...interview some players, take some pics/video (yes - I can take video), watch some practice... I could be the bbs roving reporter.

    ... if only...

Actually - if there's a college student who really wants to do this and have their work on rockets.com, then I'll point them towards this:

    rockets.com hiring an intern

edited to delete the part about college credit only - it appears that recent grads can apply too
