[Press Conference] Tuesday August 2 (UPDATE - Swift signing is official)

It took them several hours to get the T-MAc trade info up.

 

Correct, all we really got was 790am saying they are currently having it. I guess there isn't much to report since he isn't a bigtime player like Tracy and we knew it was going to happen but I still would have like to hear more than, The Rockets are currently holding a press conference about signing Swift.

 

I know that, that's now what I meant. I was referring to that fact that no local media covered it live, I didn't mean there were no media present at all at the press conf.

I wish we had our own press credentials for the BBS, and someone would take his camcorder/audio recorder and then upload it here on the BBS. That would be cool.

Yah well, I am sure we will hear/see something about it during the afternon radio hours on SR610 and 790

You guys post here if they ever play it on 610. I had to turn the radio off because I got tired of listening these two jackasses talk about who should be on the Surreal Life.

 

Nothing on it, just repetitive stuff from Monday, the don't go live until the "Hot List" at 2pm, or with brief updates when news break.

NBATV is showing an international basketball game, so nothing there either.

 

I especially loved the summer league coverage on Rockets.com.

 

I know it was a great source for information LOL

I think Clutch and Doc had ours up what seemed like real time compared to Rockets.com

 

Guys don't freak out, this wasn't that big a deal, here's a brief recap...Stro is excited to be in Houston, and CD is excited to have him...He was frustrated in Memphis because he played the same position as Spanish Fly....He's talked with JVG twice and was told that he has yet to reach his true potential and JVG would make sure that he got there....neither Swift or the Rockets would reveal the length of the contract, though I think it's 3 years with player options...CD says they still want Barry back (his deal is basically done for 1 season) and Mutombo back(he's out of the country). No real earth shattering news, I promise if this was a McGrady trade level transaction you would have heard it live, but it's not quite that...

Only 3 years!?! Wow, I'm not sure whether to be happy that he doesn't have a long contract, or sad that we don't have him locked up at $6 mil per season for the next 5 seasons... I'm leaning towards the latter.
