Dr. Lowe has further stated wait is on several foot specialist records, "dotting all the eyes and crossing all the tee's"...He thinks the physical will pass so let's all hope and everything will be o.k.

Personally, it seems the press conference should not have happened unless this medical thing was taken care of. Big blunder. ...Still, we don't know which way it will go.

I doubt he will fail. The real question will be if he starts the season or is allowed to rest for a few weeks into it.

From what I'm told, it's nothing to be too concerned about... but then again who really knows. It's a mistake to let Bullard go and schedule a press conference without all this done. It only raises major speculation by having to cancel/reschedule it...

Still, I wouldn't be overly concerned about the deal being nixed at the moment.

You have to look at the bright side of things...

The last time a trade was rejected because the person we wanted to trade for failed a physical, we won an NBA title

From what I hear, this is not that big of a deal...

...but who really knows! I believe the people that I've talked with.
They just want to do a couple of other things to make sure...however, CD could be trying to maneuver a little bit??

    We'll see.........

Thanks Clutch, Doc Rock. Hey if CD IS trying to maneuver a bit, it would be nice if he could pull out Othella, if New York really is set on dumping him. Probably not realistic, but just a thought! ;)

Is Falk in town for the press conference? How come the acquisition of a mid 2nd round pick doesn't warrant a press conference.

I dunno why they would hold it in the morning anyhow. Most of the conferences I recall were held late afternoon or at night. I will also say on the Fox News last night, Rice was slightly limping when he first got out, but that could've just been jet lag from NY, or he could just be a funny walker.

The biggest hurt about a Rice deal falling through, is that it means Walt "The Malt" can't be moved. Rudy has to have his designated shooter/light D playing SF.

Still, we'd have a wad of cash burning a hole in our pockets.

"Rice was slightly limping when he first got out, but that could've just been jet lag from NY, or he could just be a funny walker. "

    He was limping.
Rice himself admits that he still has pain. When I first heard of the trade I told my wife that rice was damaged goods and the deal wouldn't go through.Maybe maybe no

I was just starting to warm up to the idea of having Rice as a Rocket. I fear that if he does pass the phy.,most of his time as a Rocket will be spent on the injured list. This type of foot injury is something that can persist for years.

If he cannot be 100 %, I'm not sure if it's in the team's best interest to keep him.

Rocket fans need to wake up. If Glen Rice had said he was 100% healthy and the foot was no problem he would still be a risk for it to flair up (ie damaged goods).

But Rice said it was not 100% and he isn't ready to play, because of the pain.

We cannot win. Do you think at some point he is going to say, It is all healed , no factor. I believe Rice will be saying its not 100% at the opening game and we will play him and he will hit for 12 pts. and no defense and we will all feel ripped. imho

Can someone please tell me how to get into that Wire service on ESPN.com? I can't find a link to it on the front page, and when I go to it through the site map, it doesn't bring up today's news. How do you get to the index with Rice's story?

Haven't you figured it out yet, Smash?

This is all an elaborate BBS prank. Rice's physical & news conference went down without a hitch. :)

I think it's fair to say a lose-lose situation could very well happen.

Example: Keep Rice, but he isn't 100%, but at the sake of appeasing public relations and such... or

losing him and getting nothing in return.....I sure hope CD, Rudy are anticipating any what-if scenarios.

Robert Horry is another "funny walker." I heard it was because he has one leg longer than the other (which also caused him back problems). Maybe Rice has this condition? It might be a fun rumor to start.
