Ron Paul - 73% Which is good because I've actually registered as Republican so I can vote in the Arizon primary election. Others: Dennis Kunich 70% Joseph Biden 69% Mike Gravel 65%
Support for torture is one of your "strong postitions"? Disgusting. I got Kucinich... not so sure about that. I think the survey might be better if there were more options for how important each issue is for you.
I am comfortable with pouring water on the face of a known terrorist and murderer for extremely short periods of time to extract life saving information, yes. Especially when this act is used judiciously, which is has been, and is used seldomly, which it has been. I also support this act, since Congress (both R's and D's) was briefed several times and did not object.
"Torture" isn't a hard word to spell. See? "T-O-R-T-U-R-E". Good thing they always obtain convictions prior to using torture. Good thing torture is such an effective method. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/13/AR2007121301303.html Oh, yeah. I had forgotten about the "Judicious and Seldom Use" clause from the Geneva Conventions. Good thing Congress has never done anything wrong. I'm just glad to see that we're winning back the hearts and minds of the world, spreading the American Dream, etc. And I'm double glad that we toppled Saddam (they say he actually tortured people, you know).
bucket, Are you questioning the guilt of Khalid Shaik Muhammed? What makes you uncomfortable about pouring water on his face, when he masterminded 9-11, and CIA officials themselves said he provided information that led to terrorist plots being avoided? His discomfort is more important than saving lives? Really? Are you serious? Seriously, you are saying that 30 seconds of KSM's discomfort is more important than lives being saved. You, sir, have lost it.
At this point, I really can't tell who's being serious. Are you? If yes: I don't support terrorists. I just think that each kid that doesn't become a terrorist = one less person that has to be killed. If no: It's all because of when I was seven and my dog ran away and a terrorist found it and brought it back. And then blew up my school, Calvin and Hobbes-stlye.
You, sir, never even had it. Just because it looks like at least one of the people we torture actually is guilty, that makes it ok to torture anyone the CIA wants without evidence against them? Also, torture is illegal. If the law is incorrect, change it. But don't just secretly break it and then try and attack it after you get caught.
i'm not too surprised. Texas Representative Ron Paul (R) 69.09% match Your Other Top Matches Former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel (D) - 69.09% Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich (D) - 61.82% Businessman John Cox (R) - 58.18% <--- WHO? Bottom of the Barrel Kansas Senator Sam Brownback (R) - 40.00% New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) - 38.18% Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) - 38.18% Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) - 34.55%
Well, I never thought of myself as a staunch democrat. But in my results, only Ron Paul from the Republican side even hit 50%. Well, Gravel was 80% and Kucinich 72%. So in other words, I'm not going to find a president who think similarly on issues... Obama's the best match among candidates that actually have any chance of winning though. Incidently, he's my favorite(and I use this term very loosely here) major candidate.
Comically ironic that you agree so much with a bigger flip-flopper than John Fitzgerald Kerry. Which position on abortion, gays, or stem cells that Romney has taken are you in agreement? HYPOCRITICAL
Kucinich 95.65 - I'll read up on this guy some more. Mike Gravel 86.96 - Who the hell is he? Obama 71.74 - My choice at this time. Edwards 68.48 Clinton 67.39 ...to the bottom: Romney 13.04 Hunter 5.43
Mitt Romney @ 77.14% Top Five Issues: * Abortion * Iraq Support * Universal Health Care * Same Sex Marriage * Gun Background Checks Someone please explain to me why two of these issues that only effect less than 1% of the population are in the top 5??
Watched Ron Paul on Meet the Press with Tim Russert this morning on NBC. Russert grilled Paul. As a libertarian politician who advocates everything small (federal) government, Paul has been a big time recipient of federal tax money (in BILLIONS) on many of his earmarked projects in his congressional district. Surprise, surprise ... NOT.
earmarks are wrong but how can you be suprised? he's looking out for the district that elected him. isn't that what your rep is supposed to do? should he fix flood control, beaches and ports of florida, california, etc... they didn't appoint him to office. again how are you suprised? the beauty is if the money wasn't there, he wouldn't earmark it. but the goverment takes our earned money so he gets it back any legal way he can. now granted he only gets it for his district but that only makes sense, no suprise there. my rep in my district needs to get my money back too and make my neighborhood better and I'll keep putting his @ss in congress. you file taxes don't you? when your over taxed you don't refuse the return do you? or if you can take a tax credit (school loans, mortgage, kids) you do right? everyone in their right mind would take the tax credits that are legally allowed to them. even the people who don't believe in the income tax
