I am comfortable with pouring water on the face of a known terrorist and murderer for extremely short periods of time to extract life saving information, yes. Especially when this act is used judiciously, which is has been, and is used seldomly, which it has been. I also support this act, since Congress (both R's and D's) was briefed several times and did not object.

Also, torture is illegal. If the law is incorrect, change it. But don't just secretly break it and then try and attack it after you get caught.

Well, I never thought of myself as a staunch democrat. But in my results, only Ron Paul from the Republican side even hit 50%. Well, Gravel was 80% and Kucinich 72%. So in other words, I'm not going to find a president who think similarly on issues... Obama's the best match among candidates that actually have any chance of winning though. Incidently, he's my favorite(and I use this term very loosely here) major candidate.

Watched Ron Paul on Meet the Press with Tim Russert this morning on NBC. Russert grilled Paul. As a libertarian politician who advocates everything small (federal) government, Paul has been a big time recipient of federal tax money (in BILLIONS) on many of his earmarked projects in his congressional district. Surprise, surprise ... NOT.
earmarks are wrong but how can you be suprised? he's looking out for the district that elected him. isn't that what your rep is supposed to do? should he fix flood control, beaches and ports of florida, california, etc... they didn't appoint him to office. again how are you suprised? the beauty is if the money wasn't there, he wouldn't earmark it. but the goverment takes our earned money so he gets it back any legal way he can. now granted he only gets it for his district but that only makes sense, no suprise there. my rep in my district needs to get my money back too and make my neighborhood better and I'll keep putting his @ss in congress. you file taxes don't you? when your over taxed you don't refuse the return do you? or if you can take a tax credit (school loans, mortgage, kids) you do right? everyone in their right mind would take the tax credits that are legally allowed to them. even the people who don't believe in the income tax
