CNN Poll has Obama 58% McCain 31% with group as 40% Dems, 30% Reps. I can't believe the poll difference is that large. McCain destroyed.
Wow CNN is 58-31. I did not expect that at all. It doesn't appear voters reacted well to the attack-type McCain. That does seem to fit the polling that shows that McCain's negative ads haven't worked either. If negative advertising and campaigning and debating is really failing, this could be a positive election looking to the conduct of future elections.
Nobody really ever wins these debates, unless someone makes a huge mistake or some great line comes out of it.............neither was done. McCain started off the debate strong.................Obama finished strong. So bottom line, with no real winner, gives Obama the edge, because McCain had the harder job.
Actually, I really don't like either one of them. Like most of the people I know, I'm kind of fed up with politicians and politics in general. I don't agree with a lot of stuff either side says. But, I'm leaning towards McCain now because he just seemed a more passionate tonight than Obama. I thought tonight, Obama came off a little smug.
McCain should have picked Romney. Once Obama wins this election he can give a giant "assist" to our current economic crisis and McCain's perceived incompetence/guilt by association on the matter. Palin brought in as much bad in as she did good -- she's all over the board. Romney would have been strong on this ultimate matter at this critical time. Him being on the McCain ticket could have changed the landscape of this election INCLUDING the possibly of delivering Michigan, Nevada, Colorado, Maine and other states where he's popular.
I think this is a big difference between people. I think McCain came off as desperate and scrappy, Obama was confident and clear.
Faos,TJ,Basso, here's a nic pic of your boy to put in your wallet. [/QUOTE] Mccain didnt win one debate, he didnt even come close. So please quit making this ***** up. This was like the Bulls vs Sonics in 96, not even close .
McCain (R) 31 Obama (D) 58 Favorable/Unfavorable Obama, before debate: 63/35 Obama, after debate: 66/33 McCain, before debate: 51/45 McCain, after debate: 49/49 Obama improved his fav/unfav ratings. McCain took a step backwards.
It's not smug, it's confidence in knowing you're are that much better than your opponent and despite the negativite attacks, people are finally starting to see it.
This was the best moderating job of the 4 debates, followed closely by Jim Lehrer. Gwen was awful and Tom Brokaw just annoys the hell out of me.
Anderson Cooper: David Gergen, what does McCain do for the rest of the campaign? Gergen: Beats the hell out of me
I agree. I like Brokaw, I just think in the townhall the moderator kind of has one arm tied behind his back and has far less control of what happens.
funny how opinions are skewed base on what side you are on. I don't think he was lost or confused.......but more so like ZERO? gimmie a break.
