You think 1 month is enough time for someone to demonstrate that he has kept his promises? You seem easy to please and easy to con.

Hopefully the market growth can continue... and that the market growth can match that under Obama. Of course, the market would have to grow to 50,000 for that to happen. Go Trump, go market!

Dow would rise to 50,000 if Trump matches market performance under Obama

Yay, he didn't sound quite as batshit crazy as he usually does. Low bar. Sad.

Why waste energy on a Houston Rockets debate and disscussion message board if you are going to be facetious all the time? Sorry to go meta, but you seem to waste a lot of time here if ou are kust playing a shtick. Usually the smart ones that play a shtick are compensated(Stephen Colbert). What is you motive?

Everyone is way too concerned with political theater - who cares if he *sounds* presidential? All that does is provide cover for his toxic agenda.

I mean... he's creating a government office dedicated to deepening his overt, abject vilification of immigrants. Oh, sure - he gave it a "presidential' name (Voice, Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement) - but make no mistake of its purpose: more unchecked fear-mongering - the Brown people are rapists and criminals! Don't worry - my administration will protect 'American victims.'" And people fall for it because they think how a message is delivered is of greater importance than its content.........

I think you mistyped. You meant "he's creating a government office dedicated to deepening his overt, abject vilification of criminals"

I'm brown but it would be nice to have protection against a criminal illegal alien who you might not be able to prosecute or sue for damages, etc... They shouldn't be released because their home country won't accept them or even better maybe they shouldn't be extradited and we can prosecute them for their crimes against legal Americans.

    -edit-
Here's a real example, Qian Wu, a Chinese immigrant living in New York who was brutally attacked in 2006 by Huang Chen, an undocumented immigrant. Wu thought Chen was deported to China. Instead immigration officials held him, on and off, in El Paso, Texas. Three years later he reappeared at Wu's apartment in New York and murdered her.

Obama did jack squat to achieve this. All driven by Fed policy, which could now become a headwind with rising rates.

I feel like there is always lesson to be learned in an ever changing world. When I no longer have that capacity, I think I might as well be dead.

    Seriously though...

The Voice program is the exact same thing Bannon did on his Breitbart site by having a "Black Crime" section, and it is the same thing done in Nazi Germany by reporting on Jewish crime. It's only purpose is to generate hate against a group of people.

It is the same thing. You can deny it all you want, but it is only meant to create fear.

Yea exactly the same except that illegal immigrant criminals aren't an ethic group. Other than that, you're spot on!

And we should all be concerned about crimes committed by illegal aliens because they can be released, go unprosecuted, you can't go after them civilly, etc... Many things to be concerned about if an illegal alien commits a crime against you. Very hard to reach justice.

Only amateur politicians tell American people to Look to the Stock Market for a barometer for their success or failure.

The only thing that will happen is hypocrisy when/If the Trump admin says the opposite (Dow has nothing to do with Presidents performance) if the Dow & futures drop off a cliff.

That's politics 101. Stay away from aligning your success with the stock market. It will come back to bite you in the arse. Focus on employment, GDP, value of the dollar, etc. which will show trends over a larger scale of time.

Nobody should be shocked that the stock market has rallied after Trumps victory and policy implementation. If you tell the banks, we are going to roll back Dod Frank, cut ALL regulations anywhere we can, and hire the cabinet that he hired (hate to say it but if you think they are funneling information to their investor friends to get rich you are a Wall Street Ignoramus), it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that there will be a hell of a lot of activity on Wall Street as every investor in American will be priming the pump to get rich quick over the next two years.

    HOWEVER.... two questions-

-Without regulations, do we REALLY trust the big banks to put the dividends back into Human Capital????.... Are people that dumb?
-Will "Trumped Up Trickle Down Economics" work in 2017-18?? What companies are going to be able to expand that are gaining off of the gains of the current stock Market boom? Do we even know which companies' stocks are soaring?

Frankly if I was a trump supporter I'd be more inclined to claim Obama's unemployment numbers from January than to start taking credit for the gains on Wall Street. Its a lie, but still its a safer political battle. I do think though there is a bigger discussion to be had about what Trumps Trickle Down Economic policy will mean to our 2017 markets. Its not the Reagan years anymore.

Looks like he's fooled someone at least. Also, reread my post. I said it was about immigrants, but watch this list. Watch what ethnicities fill the list. Not because those ethnicities are more likely to commit crimes...but because they are more likely to be immigrants..

Not true. We do prosecute illegal immigrants. I was summoned for jury duty a couple of years ago to hear a trial. Please stop making stuff up. This is how misinformation is spread.

no because 1) usa has the largest number of immigrants and 2) geography. no different than other countries around the world. for example, how many turks in germany compared to mexicans or central americans?

You're spreading false information making it appear that all criminal illegal immigrants who are caught are prosecuted. that's not true. some are extradited, some are released, some are transferred to different jurisdictions, etc... Please stop, this is how misinformation is spread.

For the record, I never claimed that we don't only that it's possible that many aren't.

But the number of those that commit crimes is disproportionately lower than US citizens.

Trump is addressing a problem that doesn't exist. And he's doing it by needlessly vilifying the same group he's been vilifying since literally day one of his campaign. Sure, in a vacuum, this, along with many other thorny issues associated with immigration, needs to be properly addressed. But you can't pretend this isn't an extension of his 18-month long (and counting) campaign of creating fear.
