    It's beyond annoying.
Has it been confirmed yet if Barry Obama nominated himself? Because that's what it seems like according to all the good folk whining about this. The guy had no say in it, I believe he's already said he feels like he doesnt deserve the award but it's not up to him but rather the "esteemed" selection commitee in Norway I believe.

For petes sake, I'm not clapping for joy at every decision and move he's made this year but this outcry is beyond ridiculous. I'm surprised folks aren't picketing the grammys for giving him two awards.

How is this bad? I don't get it? The conservatives are jealous, and the liberals are overly proud. It seems like everyone has a "the sky is falling" attitude. As an AMERICAN, I'm proud that our president won. This is good for America. End of story.

But I love how this will get spun out of proportion and somehow he doesn't deserve it or it makes America look weak, blah blah blah. Regardless of who is in office, it's good to see that one of us is winning awards.

Look at Phelps, the dude won 8 gold medals, and he's a tremendous douche/tool (take your choice), but that didn't stop every red blooded American from being proud. Be proud America, this one is for us.

I don't think anyone is jealous or particularly proud, I think most people are justing wondering what exactly warranted him winning this

I voted for Obama and I'm not criticizing him for winning the award. I am, however, criticizing the Nobel Peace Prize Committee though. It was a poor choice by the Committee. They've made questionable decisions in the past as well. They voted on this during the 11th day of his presidency and Obama hasn't accomplished anything to justify receiving this award. At least the President admitted he didn't deserve this award.

This reminds me of Le Duc Tho who was the co-winner of the award in 1973 with Henry Kissinger. He declined to accept the award, stating that there was still no peace in his country.

They didn't vote on it in February, that was the deadline for nominations. They voted on it much more recently.

I voted for Obama, but still think it's ridiculous to win the Nobel Peace prize for talking nice. He hasn't brought about any more peace in the last 9 months.
He made a premptive rocket strike against the moon, just to find water. WTF!
    :D

Sadly, all of this "peace" speak is premature.

Did you even read the article? You did see at the end of the article the quotes from a US SOLDIER, correct? It's not completely about the taliban.

He is some amalgam of a long-time poster who has decided to crap on everyone (in some cases, rightfully so) without having to say who he is.

I know he's pretending to be Zorro while doing this, but ultimately, if you're not ready to hold yourself accountable for your statements, it speaks volumes.

I will love to see who he is. It will be determined eventually. I'm the only ******* on this board that is willing to deal with the crap.

When it does, both the poster and his pathetic pseudonym will leave in shame.

And that will be sad. For what Vinsanity has brought to the board, some has worked towards positive results.

That said, you keep pissing on things in this forum, and suddenly you're back to writing what people like listening to... (What is in my CD player?)

Whatever. I've been here a decade. Sorry if I offend.

Your wife is an idiot. I suggest an immediate divorce.

Let me know if you need consulting.

They voted on this a few weeks ago and being that Obama has single handly lead the charge to use diplomacy with people we don't agree with, renewed our relationship with russia, and has reached out to the musilm word from day one of his inagruguration he is deserving of this award. It's a shame that the rest of the world acknowledges what this man is trying to do, and is more supportive then our citizens here at home. I can't think of anyone in the last 2 years who has had a bigger impact on the globe then Obama. The title "hope" has become more then a campaign slogan, it has become something much larger to the rest of the world thanks to Obama. I hope this pushes him to end both of the wars sooner then later because I think they will be devastating to his presidency and to the U.S economy eventually.

Why can't we all just say congratulations that our president was choosen for this award rather then being so skeptical? My question is for anyone who says he didn't deserve the award then who? and explain why?
