i think the counter-argument is to ask why he's been in the league for 30 years and nobody else looked at this guy and thought "that's head coach material"
FWIW, I was listening to Sports 610am, ALL TEXANS, ALL THE GOT DAMN TIME, and I heard the David Culley interview today and for the first time I was impressed with him as a HC. He made mentioned how he told Tim Kelly on one particular series, when they were in the Red Zone, if they would've made a yard on 3rd down, he ALREADY had a play called for 4th down.....IN PRE-SEASON!! I thought thinking ahead was COMMON SENSE in Football, until I saw Bill O'Brien coach against Kansas City in the playoffs.
