All good things come to an end. I'm really happy for Case. He beat the odds and had a great career after coming out of that deer blind.
He's an undrafted guy that played for 11 years and made over 50 million dollars... EVERY undrafted player fantasizes about that.
Why didn't Pierce play today? Surely he hasn't locked in the backup position. I like some of our other guys better.
They still list Pierce as #2 on the depth chart. Honestly, with what I've seen from other running backs this preseason I don't get it. Then again, I said that last year.
Fans were into that game not as much as Lions fans today. Listening to the radio call it was funny Andre Ware throwing out conspiracies as to why Akers was still checking in late in the game. "Maybe Coach McVay as Demeco for an extended look." "Maybe he just loves football" He better make the team. Akers.
This is where I've been expecting him to wind up. The timing is the only issue and whether he wants a season off to transition to coaching. I'd still like to see if we can go with 2 QBs now that an Emergency QB can come from the Practice Squad and NOT count against the 53. I'm imagining CJ and Mills on the Roster, Boyle on the Practice Squad as Emergency QB and Keenum a new QB Asst Coach. Perhaps turning FB into a Halfback role using Brooks and Stover. I think Hairston may be gone after 4 or 5 penalties today and perhaps Beck doesn't make it. Use the extra slots for WR/RB depth.
