Certainly you are in reason, I also hate radical/stupid comments from an exhibition game. I don't talk about the players, it's only that I've watched during all preseason an offense with same movements than last year. I was a little pissed at the last playoffs because our simple offense. So hearing the comments from Adelman last week, I hoped something more worked in offense for this season... and I see exactly the same, thats it. And its my last post today because I see my problems with the language.
I think Wafer just lost his opportunity to lock up that last spot on the team tonight. This is not a good team we played and he just missed a lot of wide open shots. DJ played well too, but got a little careless at the end. I guess it really will be up to the coach who will be most useful to the team: Wafer, Strawberry or Harris. It really does not matter though as them will all be 3rd string players. Harris played well last year and was part of the 22 game winning streak, he has not shown much in the preseason, but you never know. He might just get that last spot because the roxs could not sign him last season.
Dear Cabbage, Gerald, the diabetic gorilla has been looking for you for quite some time. Poor Gerald was stranded from the hurricane and is without cabbage, his favorite food. Please return to Galveston at once. Thank you.
Repeat after me. it was only a preseason game. werent even playing our best player in mcgrady. battier was out.
another outstanding FT shooting night. Yao is getting the feel of the game. 16 rebounds and 15 points!!! in only 24 minutes. Another solid game from landry. AB and strawberry, a good game by them. 36 points, and only 3 turnovers between them. And this is playing against starters. Although its the weakest team in the league. Rafer found his shooting touch, 2-4 on 3p. You guys can continue bashing the team now.
Why are people making such a big deal out of this? I actually like that we lost, we got some experience for our bench. This reminds me of Boston's bench last year. I think this is great for the Rockets... Cry when we lose a regular season game... THIS IS PRESEASON.
hey..i know some said we should've win this one.. But give respect to the OKC team! They are an NBA team also, and we expect that their starters will beat any 2nd/3rd string of other NBA teams. If they get outplayed by our 2nd/3rd unit, expect them to go 0-82. Its not that bad for us man..its preseason
Steve Francis will be backing up Rafer before the trading deadline... Brooks will be 3rd string, and Mutombo will be signed and Wafer and Strawberry will be gone. That'll be the outlook near midseason.
Steve has got a huge hill to climb. brooks has a head start since steve cant even practise till the preseason is over. then he'll have to outplay arron in practise once the regular season starts. as feigan put it, there is a chance, but it's highly unlikley steve cracks the rotation
That will be good. But, if Francis cannot come back, we have to trade for a solid backup pg. AB's playmaking is horrible. And, same as Rafer, he is a streaky shooter.
He made some perfect passes that should have gone for assists. The TO's weren't egregious and he shot 9-14. He was damned good tonight. If that made you angry, you should follow a different team.
Counter-arguments: no defense - the other teams' PGs shot a combined 4/18 too many TO - he could have avoided a couple... at least one wasn't his fault... i agree he needs to work on this, though... he had a costly TO in crunch time bad shot selection - he shot 9/14... nobody was better tonight shoot first, pass last - he's improving... he had 3 assists but easily could have had 6 or 7, guys were missing wide open shots, esp. in the 1st half... in general, i think he was looking to pass first all night and his been doing that since SL... his problem isn't trying to be a chucker, the coaches want him to look to score more... his problem has been trying to make difficult passes and losing his dribble, getting caught in the air... he avoided that for the most part tonight Brooks had a great game. He still has a lot to prove, though.
why don't they just name themselves "the OKC Kevin Durant"? That would be way more appealing than Thunder...
Without a doubt, the preseason is used to determine which players will stay on the roster, experiment with lineups, learn from mistakes(although players and coaches learn from mistakes in reg season and playoffs too), allow starters to regain timing and form, and develop team/player flow and momentum going into Reg season... I should clarify by saying that we should be winning in the preseason because of the talent and focus of our team not just because its the preseason. Basically our team/bench is so talented whereas if we limited some mistakes at the end of tonight's game, we should have locked it down and won the game, we were capable of doing that. But the winners take over when the game is on the line, just as Durant did. He had his night...but Rockets will have their fair share too...
Every report I've heard says he hasn't missed a practice. I am sure he is also doing some rehab on his knee. I assume we will see him in at least a couple more preseason games.
