Brooks is scoring tonight, distribution is good (but teammate sucking). Scola is having a terrible day.

To me, he's looked sluggish the entire pre-season. Plus, his jumper is very shaky tonight.

Against fast, athletic teams, Landry should get more PT over Scola.

If he can do this against real NBA teams in the regular season, good for the Rockets. I still have major doubts. But so far tonight, AB has been outstanding. He is passing the ball very well and doing what a PG should do.

it's hard when he's without anyone that can create or stretch the defense. it seems that scola plays his best when tmac is in the lineup. also, don't forget that collison is a very good defender, he's both stronger and quicker than scola. But I wouldn't worry too much about scola. He plays big in games that matter.

Our second and third unit players are showing some tenacity.

I am impressed with Brooks...he can penetrate at will...just so quick ...hard to guard him. And he dissed to open man. Didn't know he can dunk....he did an ally-oop in the game. Ron and Yao are playing well. Brent Barry is smooth. Scola didn't have any rhyme since he is playing with so-so players out there.

As for Strawberry and Wafer...i don't know man...they're both impressive to me. I think Wafer is a better shooter.

And you should have doubts. So do I. He has a lot to prove.

But to trash a guy who hasn't even gotten into his 2nd season yet is ridiculous. The guy has unpraralleled quickness, a great handle, the ability to turn the corner on any defender in the league and IS a good shooter. He has plenty of weaknesses too (size, decision-making, etc...) but what player doesn't. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't throw him under the bus so quickly. Luther Head is a different situation. Dude has been in the league for several years now and has shown little improvement. If Brooks doesn't show improvement over the next season or two, he will deserve the criticism. Not yet, though.

He's played great. I think Brooks and Barry could be a great combination for us in the second unit, if they can manage not to get run over too bad on the defensive end. They provide a great mixture of offensive skills in the backcourt.

i understand your point, and agree, one problem for me though, if landry is getting eaten alive by collison.... how he's gonna fair against the likes of kg/brand/boozer/etc etc etc

Landry is playing solid post defense on Collison, as far as I can tell.

Nick Collison is a good offensive player. Landry contested the shots as well as he could, and Collison made them. No shame in that.

Landry is just having an off night and those guys he's guarding are hitting their shots...nothing to get worried about

Brooks finally just playing his game and not worried about being a facilitator...and lo and behold he is playing good

Every player needs to have a confidence boosting game. Aaron Brooks is definitely playing loose tonight, and he is bringing the whole aresenal.

If he can play close to this every night against elite NBA teams, then we have our back up PG.

I never saw Luther Head throw down an alley oop in 3 season. AB has sick hoops!

Hope this is the coming out party.

I am not sure who should be the starter for the PF spot. I like Landry but his defense is suspect....people keep scoring on him. If we start Scola...he isn't athletic enough to guard someone like Duncan and Garnett. If we start Haye...he play great D but people are going to leave him to double our superstars. So i mean if you weight in on the pro and con of all 3 PFs, I think Landry is better overall. He can shoot and they're not going to leave him, he can rebound...dude can jump...his only weakness is probably size and defense.

That's pretty much how I saw it. Same deal when he was covering Wilcox.

Landry said he has worked on his defense and I can see it. He's staying between the guy he's guarding and the basket and contesting shots without committing bad fouls. He guarded KG pretty well too last game.
