Actually no ... and I don't think much of the Texans right now so don't take it as me talking trash for the Texans. We have a long way to go.

I just don't think the Cowboys are anywhere close to as good as many people think. I don't even think it is my hatred for them talking, but maybe it is. I just don't see them as anything more than a mediocre team right now. And sorry, barely being over .500 in the NFC doesn't do much for me.

I too am a fan of both teams. I live closer to Dallas than Houston, but that really doesn't mean much. Essentially, the Cowboys are a much better overall team. I don't know how long the starters will play, but my guess is that the Cowboys will dominate the line of scrimmage and win easily. The Cowboys are loaded with talent and will have the best season in years. I will be really disappointed if they don't go deep in the playoffs. I will be ecstatic if the Texans hit .500. Yes, I will be rooting for the underdog Texans in Saturday's game.

This will be a great test. Like it or not, the dallas D is one of the top defences in the league. I want to see how we will handle the zone in and zone outs that dallas will throw at us from the 3-4.

    3 signs of a prosperous pre-season.

    1. Establishing Morale and Chemistry: check. I feel that the offense is playing as one, and Schaub looks like he has been playing with this receiving core for a while. He keeps getting better and better with each game.

    2. A player that comes out of nowhere to steal the spotlight:check. Jones has been that player. when asked, "which cornerback is giving you trouble in practice?" Jones replied, " None of them" I cant wait till he lines up next to AJ.

    3. Injury free: TBD. so far Glenn earl has been the only casualty. let's hope it remains that way.

    final score
    texans 27 cowboys 20 :)

Well, I love both teams, but i've been a Cowboy fan all my life...I went to the game last year (regular season) and had my Texans hat and Smith jersey...

It's only preason, but the first string of the Cowboys should dominate, offense that is...Roy is still a huge liability on D...

No he's not. He's a Strong Safety this year, Ken Hamlin will be the Free Safety doing the coverage. Roy Williams will be doing what he does best....playing on the line an making tackles at the line of scrimmage.

I don't really care who wins, it's the preseason.

I just want to see the 1st string offense establish something resembling a running game and Schaub continue to show us why he is so much better than Carr.

I want the 1st string defense to control the running game and put some pressure on the QB. I want to see our guys win a few one-on-one matchups.

    Most importantly... NO INJURIES.

The flashy slot receiver? What kind of offense gets him carries?

if you're talking about the interview Jones did on 610 on Wednesday, then you misheard just like he did. Jones thought the question was, "which QUARTERBACK is giving you trouble in practice?" as in giving him a hard time b/c he's a rookie.

but the guys on the show just thought his reply was funny and they just ran with it.

Only one problem with that. Ken Hamlin is about as good in coverage as Williams is. Hamlin is also a run stopper. Just ask the Texans...it's not a combination you want. They're both good at what they do, but they'd better hope those corners cover well or there will be a lot of long yardage plays against them.

Texans have three big question marks

    1. Can that d-line (with 4 straight first round picks) get pressure on the qb?
    2. SS and FS are a huge question mark for this team, the combo of CC Brown, Jason Simmons and Von Hutchins must get it done
    3. O-line they have looked good in the preseason but this is the area that has been the Texans biggest issue for 5 seasons now

    Cowboys have three problems

    1. QB, is Romo the real deal? He did not play well down the stretch last season and behind him is a very old/slow/weak Brad Johnson
    2. O-line, not sold on their o-line or on Davis
    3. the kicker, dallas seems to always have issues finding a kicker

For this game, should be close I'll take the Texans since it's at Reliant.

As far as the season goes, in a weak NFC the Cowboys are still behind the Saints, Bears, Seahawks and in the same boat as the Giants, Eagles and Panthers so yeah they might get in the playoffs and win a game they might not we will see.

The Texans will go 9-7 and just miss the playoffs in the AFC but will be in it till the last week or two.

    Cowboys D>Texans D
    Cowboys O=Texans O
    Texans ST>>>Cowboys ST

I would disagree with all of those to a certain extent.

I do think the cowboys d is pretty good, but unless they can consistently pressure the qb, the d will remain overrated despite what the numbers say. We'll have to wait and see if Wade and the change in d philosophy nets results. But at least they can stop the run.

I would heavily disagree on O. I'd give Dallas the advantage there pretty much from top to bottom. I don't see how it's even remotely close, even if the texans have changed from horrible to respectable on o.

As far as ST, I'd definitely give Houston the edge as far as returners go, but there is more to ST than just that. Dallas has the best punter in the league by far. The Dallas kickers are eh, but have looked great in the preseason. Both have been booming their kickoffs and making their field goals. Who knows if they'll be able to keep it up. Kris Brown is Kris Brown. Wouldn't consider him a strength nor a glaring weakness. I'd give the nod to Houston for sure, but not to that extreme of a degree.

Best punter in the League by far? Did they sign Jason Baker from the Panthers? Besides, Daniel Sepulveda is going to be the best punter this league has ever seen. Oh, and Matt Turk had a better net average than McBriar, which is the true measure of a punter.
