Let's see. A team with no history that has sucked for basically entire it's existence didn't get tons of coverage for a preseason game where no one cares about the results. And ESPN didn't show a random guy that no one had ever heard of returning a punt in a preseason game that no one cares about the results of. Yes, terribly unfair lack of respect.
True, but had it not been for the score in the upper left hand part of the screen from the game, then I wouldnt have even known the Texans were ahead at that point of the game, much less won the game. In any case, Im all for teams underestimating us...by season's end, the football world is gonna get knocked upside the head when they realize they cant really make fun of the Texans anymore.
All they have to do is show a highlight from the team that won the game. It was sportscenter express...they showed one clip from each game. Makes no sense to show the clip from the team that lost, when the winning team had 2 sweet touchdowns.
Great win for the Texans heading into the season ~ JJ looks like he might end up being a special player.
I'm spending Tuesday thru Friday in Dallas this coming week so I'll probably hear every excuse in the book on why the Cowboys lost yesterday. Still, the sports media up there is much more critical and questioning about their teams so not all of it will be excuses. I love being in Dallas after something bad happens to the Cowboys or Mavs. Seems like yesterday when I was listening to one of their shows polling callers about whether they were "scared" of the Golden State Warriors or just "curious" about them. 100% of the callers I heard said they were only curious.
i completely agree with all of this except the "david carr seems smart" part. if you watched the panthers preseason game the other night, you saw the exact same thing all over again...but with the panthers' o-line.
Sure it does. No one cares who wins a preseason game - it's completely and totally irrelevant, so why focus on that? What people care about in preseason games are what's happening with star players.
Number of sacks attributed to Carr is hard to say... I've said before we never saw Tony Banks or Sage Rosenfels getting thrown into the turf the same rate Carr was
i watched that game. I just had to laugh. Cant believe we actually watched that for as long as we did.
It wasn't the same OFFENSIVE LINE in the entire game. Wait until the first few weeks and I will come back to quote you and my post here. Really, you can't compare the entire team of this year to the entire team of last year until the regular season starts. Back when we had the other quarterback, we did well in the preseason but then it was different DURING the season.
I think there was a joke in that statement! The cowgirls did not deserve to play on the Texan's field Saturday!
Cowboys fan here with my 2 cents... Things that are obvious: Texans are not as bad as they have been, but I think the fans of the Texans are the joke. They get really high, or really low with every game and its results. There is no patience and the level of desperation is obviously high. This is the draft hangover, and the fact that it is still going on shows a lot. Cowboys came in much less amped for this, and at the same time, took their opponent too lightly, which is stupid considering they have only played well in the preseason (the boys I mean) I agree we have a talented team, but until we are out of the wildcard, they should prepare like they have something to prove. Texans and their fans shot their load early because this was the most meaningful game of the season for them. The secondary will struggle and I think the offense will also, after defenses have time to adjust to Schaub and Jones. Romo had a tough time last year when D's got used to him. Not trying to invoke ill will, just puttin in mine.
i guess i need to clean myself up then. i doubt the majority us think the Texans are better than the Cowboys. i know it's hard to believe, but we actually realize it's preseason.
