    Moochie Fro's - that's an idea. cc.net Moochie Fro's for all.

How much would it cost to make 300 disposable Moochie Fros?

    Jamcracker,

A "true" fan would fly my sad ass back to Houston for that last game. I am in Rocket hell for the moment - stripped of my every-other-day fix of Rockets on TV...down to game time chat on a crappy, temporary free isp that likes to disconnect at random intervals AND freeze up my whole computer. DSL is finally coming but it is 4 weeks away.

I am a true fan. I have suffered through the aggravating years of the late 80's, early 90's (couldn't afford tickets before then). You and your luxury makes me sick! [IMG]

Who wants to help me out?

Maybe we can get Aimee-zing Faces to make the Fros for us for another plug.

A true, suffering fan like yourself would surely be willing to Greyhound the trip. Only $156 round trip. I'll throw $5 into the "Greyhound rimbaud's sad ass to Houston" fund. [IMG]

If you're not "dead". Hahahahahaha... see some Rocket games live... if you're not dead... get it? Hahahaha... oh hell, that was morbid. I'm sorry. [IMG]

Hey, my dad wouldn't get me jack when I grew up and I was a stingy b*stard till the past couple of years. It helps to not waste money in your teens and 20's... but that's best left to be discussed in the BBS Hangout forum.

Being jamcracker's game mate, am I allowed to take the TheFreak position of objectively defending the one taking all the heat?

A large part of what jammie is saying is that us season tickets holders would really, really, really enjoy our tickets more if more rabid rockets fans would come out and yell with us at the game and witness the joy of the players responding to a full house. Fans at the game want the Summit louder. So do the players. We can't hear you through the TV set.

"True Fans" might be a provocative statement. But really, what true baseball fan can't make it out to at least one game. Why can't an NBA fan like jammie make that statement? If the ticket prices really are prohibitive, then we need to complain to Rocketball not bash jamcracker, especially after Jeff and cc.net SavedTheirJobs.com.

How exactly can Rocketball read this thread and listen to all the true fans arguing with jamcracker (like he's running a high pressure ticket sales campaign on the side) and not see that the main problem being voiced here is ticket prices. I'll say it again; all TRUE BASEBALL LOVERS make it to games every year, and that is mainly because of cheaper seats. Price range for price range, even after calculating less NBA games, MLB is much, much cheaper.

Yet us rabid fans are screwed, because we are Rockets fanatics...because there is no live sport comparable to the NBA, in our opinion. Go read DoD's post from Dallas again if you don't believe me (even though he threw us for a loop with his new found love for NASCAR, yuck).

That said: I'm sure jamcracker knows that a cc.net social outing will get cc.net out just for the social aspect of it. Jeff and Clutch did not inspire too many to see a game who otherwise wouldn't have, but maybe maybe no. Anyhow, cc.net night out is to meet and have a great time as a group who never gets to see each other's faces.

this will be a great night.

Still, remember these price arguments against jamcracker next time you are in a rabid venting mode. Let's all SaveOurSeats.com and p.o.l.i.t.e.l.y ask Rocketsball to retract their price increase from last year. If you need an incendiary incentive, just remmember the quote from the VP of Marketing in the Chronicle explaining the price hike where she said, "We must raise prices to offset lack of ticket Sales." Email her and ask her if they forced her to say that, she lied on her own, or if she is really that naive of basic economics.

enjoy the game...all. I'm having fun.

    HeyP:

I actually listed the money aspect third of my reasons. My family comes first, then my job, then affordability. Sure, if I wanted to, I could buy season tickets, then sacrifice elsewhere. But time is much more valuable to me. Just wait till you and heysweetie have a kid or two (or three like me), then get them involved as much as the five of us are, and you will realize that spare time is a precious commodity.

Have you ever noticed how much I post when I'm at work versus when I'm at home? It's because I simply do not think it is fair to my kids to sit at a computer while they are around. Lord knows I work a lot of hours, and when I'm home I'm still running from the gym to the school, to the baseball field, back to the gym, over to the library, etc. This is the life my wife and I have chosen, and we love it. Spare time, what little there is, is spent playing a game or reading a book, or maybe just having a dinner that all five of us are present for.

I simply fail to see how that makes me less of a "true fan" of the Rockets.

I had a good day today. As a result of that, I have been in a really good mood all day long.

Then I read Jamcrackers response to what I had written, and after reading it a second time, I got what he was trying to say, so that is why I didn't take offense.

It could have been written so that it better illustrated his point, but maybe he was just having a bad day (unlike me), and that is why he came across as a little pissy. Whatever......I still got it though.

    Emailed apology accepted, btw Jammy.

    behad,

you are not a TRUE cc.net'ter if you don't swat your kids away while posting.

sure, I agree with everything you said. I will do everything I can to take my kids to basketball games at an early age, and baseball games. Does that make more of a true fan than you, or just a fun dad like you?...maybe maybe no.

Anyhow, the prices are out of line with every other sport. There is not enough complaining about that.

Also, I know jammie takes great offense to people saying the fans at the games are lame. Does it make us less of TRUE FANS for attending the games and not being loud enough for the TV viewing audience. Do we embarrass the out of towners.

Consider how provoking it is to jammie and others when they hear that the fans suck.

Here's an idea: Maybe we should wear nametags with our alias's on them, that would be pretty cool.

Jeff, send Wink3 all the names, and he'll be glad to make nice name tags for everyone.
