I was going to post something similar, so I will just do it here. Tmac - clearly rusty, it shows that he took 6 months off, and it will take a bit of time to get back to his old self, but he is smart enough and good enough to do other things while he plays himself into Superstar shape. Yao - Looks very good on offense, but still gets way too many stupid fouls. Yao learned how to avoid those last year, and he needs to go back to that. Also his rebounding has been far below what he is capable of..... but overall still great Battier - What can you say? The guy that is the heart and soul of the team, after only 5 games, we are much better off with him than Rudy Gay. Hayes - Undersized, but tough as nails and smart too. Plays within himself and that is important. Alston - His 3pt shot looks better, and he is in control of the offense, but he still gets beat to easily by the other team's PG and IMHO is too protective of the ball, needs to create more for teamates....when he does break down the defense, good things happen. Luther - Undersized, but a decent backup - better shooter, but as a backup pg, his handles are below average. Howard - surprisingly doing well off the bench - I like his energy Synder - The black hole on offense, he REALLY wants to drive and shoot, and I love his energy, but needs to get a consistent outside shot, overall a great pickup. Novak - Needs to play more...but 50% shooting from 3pt land as well as overall bodes very well. V-Span - I really hope he takes over the backup PG role at some point as he is a game changer - sometimes in the wrong way, but still a game changer. Best perimeter defender on the Rockets and the best creator/passer....He needs time with the better players to really see if his turnovers are a product of him, or the other guys not being ready for the pass. Padgett - Good solid role player Bonzi - fat, out of shape, needs to be more serious or his next contract is going to be even worse. JL3 - more of an undersized 2 guard than a PG, nice luxury to have on the squad in case of injuries. Sura - I hope he comes back, but where do you play him? His shot has never been that good. Deke - Really too old, but he is still a better rebounder than Yao and is far less mobile, why is that? Anyway, I think this team is loaded, and once they all get comfortable with their roles watch out. I love the way they pass the ball to the open teamate, and that ultimately will lead to great team chemistry, and wins. GO ROCKETS ! DD
I liked your overall analysis, but I can't figure out how you came up with this. I will agree, but only after Battier has been instrumental in getting us to the finals a couple of times.
Although tmac has lost a step He can still get past his man when he wants to with his added strength and length he just doesnt EXPLODES past his man like dwade but still gets the job done
