Spurs are probably the best match up for the Rockets. Tim Duncan is old, Ginobli is not what he used to be. Camby always gives Duncan a hard time, Parsons can handle Ginobli, Parker will be neutralized because the Rockets have Lowry/Dragic. I think the Lakers have too much size to go all around for the Rockets to beat them in a 7 game series. I don't understand why people here want to play the Thunder, that would not be a good match up for the Rockets simply because They don't really have an answer for Durant and the Thunder are a really good shot blocking and rebounding team. The best chance at an upset lies in playing the Spurs.

Thunder have NO low post threat. Scola has a field day when he plays the Thunder because noone can guard him.

As for the Lakers we can't get 10 feet near the basket when Bynum is in the game. It's no coincidence Scola went off for however many points in the 4th because they lost their size.

Winning games is about getting easy baskets. We settle for jumpshots against the Lakers while we're able to get to the hoop against the Thunder.

On defense, give me Durant and Westbrook taking tough contested jumpshots over Parsons and Dragic than Bynum taking 5 foot hook shots. I havn't event mentioned Kobe or Gasol. When you have the more dominant inside game you will usually beat the other team.

I don't care how good Durant or Westbrook are. They're still going to attempt at least 10 3's a game over the Rockets outstretched hands. I'll take my chances with that than having Bynum have his way in the paint.

Remember we're one of the best teams at defending the Iso but for whatever reason our team defense isn't good. This is why we'd lose to the Spurs.

I'd rather take the Lakers. I'd enjoy it more.

Still Lakers.... don't understand your fear...
Lakers have a tool in Bynum
Kobe is having problems playing heavy minutes no matter how you turn it... and he is shooting under 30 percent in clutch time
Gasol is inconsistent ..... WorldP and Ramon Sessions are X factors.

we definitely match up better with okc. our defensive strength is at the pg/sg/sf positions and that's where they get all their scoring. we can't rely on bynum getting ejected every game.

Ok. But we can count on Gasol having sub par scoring games

Those saying Spurs should keep in mind that Parker is having what many are calling an MVP type season... Duncan might be old but those guys know how to win and have won 10 straight. I fear them the most. They've been there and done that.

Like many have noted, Bynum is a knuckle head so we'll see how he plays when the pressure is on the line. Kobe is getting older and there is less time between games this year. Factor in a new coach and system - and the fact that it seems thAt not everone is buying in yet - and I think the Lakers are weaker than ever. A lot of new pieces on that team.

The Thunder might not have low post OFFENSE, but their interior defense is a force. A matchup with them would basically men our guards versus theirs and Westbrook and Durant are better than anyone we have and can explode for 40 at any time.

Overall, I just find it hard to believe the Thunder are going to flame out in the first round after trending upward over the years. On the other hand, the Lakers were swept last year when they still had Odom.

I think they're both equal match ups (a fairly winnable series for the Rockets).

OKC may not give us alot of problems but they have a scary crowd and energy, which when combined can give him many huge runs in games. They also can run the fastbreak extremely well.

What the Lakers lack in energy they have in experience. While they do give up their big leads, they still have Kobe, who can just crush your spirits with his tough late game shots. Bynum's length may cause some problems too as indicated in his game (before his silly ejection).

    1st round: OKC or LAL
    2nd round: OKC or LAL
    Conference Finals: Grizzlies
    Finals: Bulls

Our best scenario for a championship run

Ha! Pretty funny you'd post that Got Em Coach. My dad worked at the Chronicle back then and contributed to that and every other Rockets sign that was produced at the time. Nothing like being a kid and having all the new Rockets posters before they came out in the paper...

My favorite was the one with all the players and their signatures.

We have a great chance of ending up in 5th place...I'm thinking it's going to be San Antonio or Dallas...
