There was some miserable weather at the game. Drizzling with the temperatures in the upper 30's. Props for sticking through it. Wish I was there, but Stillwater is a craphole of a town.
Actually, the weather wasn't that bad. It didn't rain at all from about an hour before the game on and the weather wa in the mid 40's based on the thermometers I saw. It was the first time I'd really been to Stillwater, and I didn't think it was that bad of a town. OSU's campus is fairly nice, and their stadium will be really great when the finish remodeling it. In the mean time, having to go take a piss in port-a-potties sucks....
A little overly critical there, I think. And not really fair at all. Part of the TD ratio problem is actually Young's own success running in the red zone. No reason to air it out when you can run it safely and successfully. 5 picks isn't bad at all. If the offense weren't functioning, or it was only function because of Benson, I'd be upset with the only 2 passing TD's - but that's just not the case. Young's the focal point of the offense. If UT passed in the red zone, he'd have more touches to make that ratio look a lot better.
He sure can't pass can he? He only insulted the OSU secondary all night long. It's been more greg davis not having confidence in vince with the offense than vince's natural ability. He was a passing quarterback first at Madison High School in Houston. No matter what though, he is special. What a clubbing OSU got, and if UT wins out, BCS bowling here they come.
I didn't say he couldn't pass, only that he hadn't done it well prior to this game. And let's be honest, OSU's defense isn't that great. He did make some good throws last night, no question. It's just that some of his throws against KSU, OU, and Nebraska were downright scary. Kinda like the one last night when he was about to get sacked and just hurled it downfield. Don't know how that didn't get picked off. If anyone wants to make some money on the next game, let me know - I'm great with predictions.
I'm sure glad Cedric Benson has gotten it back on track. Texas is probably playing with the top 5 teams in the country, behind OU of course
