3814, slow down. You're acting as if I'm on this prick's payroll. This guy, seriously, wanted to keep the the Grizz in BC. He honestly did. This is, of course, akin to Tara Reid's current boyfriend telling his bid-ness associates that "Tara wants to stay sober for the next year, she told me that!" Heisley wanted to keep the Grizz in BC. He's also a moron, and a liar. The part about wanting to keep the Grizz in Vancouver, tho, he didn't lie about. The man hadn't spent more than a week in Memphis before throwing his lot towards the town. He really wanted to stay in Vancouver, he just didn't know how to make it work. Don't throw me in with him. He wanted to stay in Vancouver. I know what he did to the city to "justify" his idiotic move. I want to settle down in a ranch with Milla Jovovich. He wanted to keep the Grizzlies in Vancouver, after buying the team in 2000. Draw your own conclusions.
The Grizz want to cut payroll, but as long as West is there, I dont see as the last thing West does before he leaves the team as GM doing a complete fire sale. To me that happens AFTER West leaves. West will probably continue to do all he can to lop off huge salaries to role players and try to turn them into another Star Player to run with Gasol. He has been trying to do that the last few years with little luck. My guess is other GMs are weary to deal with him and West is probably asking for a ton more than he is willing to give up. He just is afraid of getting on the wrong end of the trading stick. West might take some chances this year though to get that star player. I still think someone like Francis might be someone he might be interestested in. Any Star Player that is available, I am sure he is talking to those teams.
fair enough...although i don't see any proof behind the statement, i guess it may of been his pipedream that he couldn't achieve.
