Plus he's very important at the development of the young guys, as well as in the locker room chemistry, one of the better strengths of this group. Contender teams don't trade Battiers, it would be like the Lakers trading Fisher 2 years ago.

I think our NY draft picks and Jermaine Taylor will be gone on Draft night, If we move up and manage to purchase a late 1st round pick...

It wouldn't surprise me. And I'll bet if a deal involving Battier does occur, there will be a lot of WTF are you thinking Morey that make since later. Its obvious we got Ariza to eventually fill his roll. Last season very well could have been for teaching purposes. No one better to learn D and social skills from than Battier. I still think Ariza is going to turn out to be a bargain, as long as he's not having to jack up 14 shots a game again, 40% of which come from 3. IMO if you can't shoot 40% from three, a player has no business shooting 40% of his shots from there.

I predict a future for Ariza slightly better than Tayshaun Prince, for $3 million cheaper.

He needs to be re-signed.I'll put it to you like this...Battier is the only Rocket(when healthy)that can fluster Kobe.Sure the team helps a great deal, but overall its Mr.Shane doing the deed.We lose Mr.Shane and you can be sure Kobe will have his way.

Either way you look at it..at one point in the playoffs we will play L.A.
