Sorry to burst your bubble but no will not win the Division title, we do not have what it takes. Here is why: - we still have not proven that we can beat a decent team on the road - we have too many streaky shooters - we are still too small when Yao goes out and - RA is too stubborn to play Deke - 4th quarter collapses; we are Choke City - we play 5-8 almost every game against the elite teams - we're still injury prone and an injury is bound to happen - RA let's the team run itself into the ground and calls timeouts way too late - our PFs are too foul prone - Barry does not get enough playing time - we're not good at beating the fronting of Yao - Yao still does not get enough touches - we have no leader We are lucky to even stay 2nd in the division with our up and down play this season. I hope the team can prove me wrong but I see them losing a lot in the next couple of games with back-to-backs, 4 games in 5 nights and such. This stretch will prove how good we really are and the reality check will get even more real and this board is going to turn ugly. That is my prediction, sorry... I'm pessimistic but also a realist.
Although we have improved defensively,we just conceded 34 points in the 4th quarter while putting up only 14 2 games ago. We also gave away 95 points against the Wolves without Al Jefferson. The much tougher March schedule starts now as mentioned previously in this thread as well. I don't see us winning the division by any means. Honestly,I see us fighting out for the 7-8 seed which is not a certainty by any means either.
It doesn't take much of statistics to see, there is greater probability we won't make playoffs than win division. Anything is possible, of course and I beleive we will be between 5 and 8.
how is that ridiculous? its the freaking truth, have you looked at the standings lately? you realize that phoenix is 3 losses behind us for ninth spot? we can drop from 4th to 8th or 9th in one tough week. i hate threads like these...they typically result in an upcoming loss quickly

Depends on how bad the Spurs play with their players hurt. I think we have a chance if we stay healthy.
I really hope that our losses to those bottom teams would not cost us an elimination from the playoffs.
I would rather have Rockets stay at no. 4 n face Portland. But i doubt Portland makes the playoffs. It will be either Portland or Suns missing the playoffs.
lol.. If we win this division, we will most likely be the 2nd seed. At worst, the 3rd seed. That's not bad at all, I hope we can win it.
I think it would do a lot for the players, psychologically speaking. When's the last time the Rockets won the division?
I actually think the rockets can make the 2nd seed in western conference. We're only 2 games out of it!! And we play the spurs 2 more times this season. We're only 1 game out of 3rd seed and we play the nuggets next week. There's still more than enough in the season left for the rockets to move up in the standings.
Winning division would be great but I really care for homecourt more than anything else. We've all seen how terribly inconsistent the Rockets have been on the road so far and that's not something I want to deal with in the post-season. I'll be more than content with 3rd or 4th, or even 5th (as long as the records pan out like they have the past two seasons).
