IIRC, Doc Rocket once mentioned that McGrady always gets his way, management can't do much to stop him. If McGrady is trying to prove some kind of point by coming back too early he'll start at whatever date he wants to. IMO management should sit him out for at least a month or two. Especially with the replacement refs coming in.

Yes small, Amare stoudamire also had microfracture surgery, unlike mcgrady amare absolutley had to sit it out, unlike mcgrady who sucked it up and earned 16ppg
My guess is he'll return soon if they are doing well, and late if it's not going so well. Just in time to prove he can still play for another contract.

that the rockets will be the 8th seed? It'll be tough but I can see them pulling it off, it will not be a team like phoenix or golden state, we have the tools to beat utah still. I believe we can get the 8th seed as long as t-mac can stay on the flipping court.
He might come off the bench for a very short period of time, a week or shorter. You play your best guys and if Mcgrady isn't CLEARLY one of our best players (i should say THE best player) by late November he should be traded as soon as possible.
thank goodness t-mac's not playing till late november. this will give time for the team to gel and build an identity. had t-mac joined at the start we would see a rerun of last year where we had no chemistry until late in the season.
Coach Adelman will be the one to judge Tracys condition through observation of him during practice sessions. A big conflab with doctors, just before the start of the season and tracy is held out till December. In the meantime Coach 'A' develops the team to play the uptempo game with passing to the open shooter. Tracy comes back and finds he only get the ball when he is in position for an open shot. Tracy find himself faced with adapting to his new role, complains but gets on with it and the Team makes the playoffs. Y
