The starting 5 by the end of the season will be:

    Yao/Battier/McGrady/Snyder/Diener.

If I may be so bold as to follow Van Gundier's lead and go out on a limb. (A place I seem to often find myself)
Sometime in the future of the upcoming season:
After the departure of Sura I expect to the Rockets play their games in two contrasting styles and sometimes a little of both on court at the same time.

A] A Traditional game focusing on the Big Man with an array of three point sharp shooters.[something like our old championship team]

B] A very athletic fast moving but finesse group spearheaded by Tracy Mc Grady and sharp shooters , these players will be to keep the Rockets able to compete with the other fast athletic teams like the Raptors and Suns.

    Point Guards:Alston, V.Span & Diener
Three Point Shooters: Diener, Novac and Padgett
Shooting Forwards and Guards Head, McGrady, Wells, Snyder
    Disruptor: Bowen
    Defensive Power Forward: Battier
    Shooting Power Forward: Howard
    Rebounding Power Forward: Hayes
    Back up Big: Man Cato
    Center: M.Yao
I realize that this Is just a alot of guessing but it's fun! :p

 at Hoopsworld. If they print it, you know it'll never happen. I hope the "Rocket Guy" didn't get the idea from that pg thread a week or two ago.

    I totally agree with this.
The only reason Bowen can make the final 15 is JVG's 'love'.
Of course, I hope they will 'break up'. If so, I'd like Jacobsen to be the alternative (also inactive).

Besides, if Padgett can continuously play like the last two preseason games, he has a good chance to make in the 12 rotation list and get some of Juwan's minutes.

starting 5 is basically set besides SG position. some say snyder , some say wells, im going with the majority and saying snyder. Wells looks too fat to be fit enough to play hard out for the amount of minutes required for a starter. he will come off the bench, and with all the practices his missed his not getting any fitter, and now with his personal leave i honestly dont think he will be fit enough come start of regular season.

    C: Yao/Deke/(JHo)
    PF: Battier/Jho/Novak/Hayes
    SF: Tmac/Padgett/(Snyder)
    SG:Snyder/Wells/(Head)/Jacobsen
    PG:Alston/Head/V-Span/JL3

If im in VGs shoes, i start games with my half court base:
    Yao/JHo/Bat/Tmac/Raef
and then switch up to my 'run n gun' unit
    Yao/Bat/Tmac/Bonzi (6 man of year)/Raef

off the bench, depending on matchup/fouls:
    C Deke/Chuck (size or speed)
    PF Chuck/Padgett (defense or perimeter)
SF Novak (Tmac/Battier will cover this spot 99%)
    SG Snyder/Head/Vspan
    PG Vspan/Head/JLIII

    Cut: Bowen/Jacobson
    Retire: Sura
That leaves 1 spot to sign another bigman (Cato with a cap friendly contract is my first choice, since he can also cover center, and just leave Chuck to backup the forward positions)

    starters:
    PG -Alston
    SG - Snyder
    SF - TMac
    PF - Battier
    C - Yao

I can see Wells or Head replacing Snyder if Snyder does not produce

As for secondary unit, I can see JVG playing small with a lot of 3 pt shooting. more emphasis on offense

    PG -VSpan
    SG - Head
    SF - Wells
    PF - Novak
    C - Howard

spot minutes for Chuck and Padgett
