We are now ready to contend. Shedding salary is not a priority and hardly a concern, especially if its our starting PG who our staff clearly likes. Going from Asik to Marion is a suicidal move and we have all of our future draft picks, we do not need extra ones at the expense of Asik. This isn't about the future anymore. It's about now, and right now that seriously hurts our team.

I would roll the dice with what we have and see how things play out before the trade deadline.

If things are going well and we win a title cool. If we are exposed thanlet's do what the GSW did and dump Asik and Lin and have room to sign a max free agent.

Ideal situation dump Lin now and bring over Llull

My prediction of what Morey will do this offseason is something that no one in this forum has predicted yet.

I predict he trades Lin at some point...for some sort of assets that he can trade along with Asik for another superstar.

Morey will hold on to Asik for the rest of the summer and likely well into the season. The media bias right now is probably making things a bit hard at the moment. Asiks value is unparalleled. The guy was magnificent to watch as his game began to evolve. He is probably out there working on his game right now. I think Morey is in the position to be the one that is picking up the phone when the phone rings. Asik does deserve starting minutes. It will be interesting to see what happens if this whole thing proceeds into the season.

Kevin Mchale will pull some strings and make a move to get Love mayyyybee LMA as a consolation. It would likely have to be a three team trade involving Lin but I'd prefer not to predict to that extent.

    The search for shooters continue...

I do expect another big move, but not for some time. Probably around the trade deadline.

My guess is Morey will want one of TJones or DMo to get 2/3rds of the time at the 4 to pump up their value. Then you hope that one of the teams with a target PF struggles. You will also need a public demand for a trade from the player. Probably a 3+ team deal.

Morey will most likely play it out until trading deadline. Wait for a team either in desperate need of spare parts or about to implode, then pick their pockets clean while getting the better end of the deal.

Pretty much what I'm figurin... maybe one more minor rotational player and then we'll make a move at the deadline... whoever is not producing will be the target (KLove or LMA)... prob a 3 team deal with Asik, Lin and whoever is looking decent of TJones or DMo... with a couple draft picks sprinkled in... it'll b a classic Morey buy low sell high...

To whomever suggested that in those forums, it's madness. Houston gets the short end of the stick on that trade.

Basically the 2 other teams get upgraded and we unload picks and Asik for an overpaid, underperforming PF? This trade stinks of Bulls rosterbation, Portland consideration, and Houston r****dation. This is too low a value to be a Morey trade as it stands. The Bulls got hamstrung at least a few times because of the Boozer contract including our acquisition of Asik. I'd be surprised to find a knowledgeable Bulls fans celebrating Boozer's contract and performance overall. Also, the numbers don't match. Boozer gets paid 32.1M/2yrs making his value toxic. For reference, that's more than Iggy or J. Smith per annum on their new contracts. No way Morey bites on those numbers for Boozer.

As for predicting Morey's moves, sit back and enjoy. So far, Morey's found value for the most part and there's no reason to think that he can't do it again with our fillers.

I'd prefer Lin over Rondo straight up, let alone trading both Asik and Lin for Rondo.

Rondo cannot shoot, is even more ball-dominant, has not been an elite offensive point and most importantly is extremely mentally volatile.

People complaining about Lin not being a good fit for the team; how is Rondo any better? And he commands a greater salary, and we also lose an elite C in the process of acquiring him and don't address our true need at PF.

    Please no.

If Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose or Tony Parker is on the table I say yes without blinking. Any other PG and a trade involving a two-for-one of Asik and Lin means the Rockets lose.

He'll find a way to get LaMarcus Aldridge.
