Forget the shitpost, time to do some Faux research.

Lets test the made basket theory:

When the team had CP3 and no Harden, from the Orlando game to the clipper game, the rockets shot 44% from the field, 34% from 3, and shot 20 free throws per game. We were outscored by an average of 3.6 points, 108.1 to 111.7.

With Harden, with and without CP3: the team shot 46% from the field, 36% from 3, and shot 26 free throws per game, on a game to game basis, thats 4 possessions turned from a missed shot to a made basket or free throws. The team's point differential rises to +8.7, 116.2 to 106.9.

So yes, Harden's presence improves both the defense and the offense. Hence why he has the highest box plus-minus (+10), Win Shares, despite missing 7 games (8.0) and WS/48 (.295). His play elevates the team to the status of title contenders.

Harden without CP3 had a record of 55-27 2016-2017 with twice as much success as CP3 in the playoffs...

I love CP3, amazing player but he is not in the same league as Harden..... Harden does not need CP3, CP3 does need Harden.

With that said, CP3 does make Harden better. That duo is lethal and should make any team in the league worry.....

If CP3 makes Harden better, how does Harden not need CP3? Harden without CP3 results in the Celtics meltdown.

Harden without any other superstar = 55 wins 3rd seed

Other superstar on the rockets by himself = 51 wins 4th seed max

Yeah, the stats don’t really line up with my pre-conceived notions of the team, so they are probably worthless.

Harden had a 56 pt, 13 ast game to beat Jazz in 35 mins of PT, no CP on the floor.

I watched CP time and time again enjoying his time on the bench, watching Harden have special, special nights. Think about the ecstasy in CP's head, the fact that he can be on the bench and the team still bulldozes over teams with Harden averaging ridiculous numbers. Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan, nobody on his previous team comes close to Harden's capabilities on the floor.

After Lebron James, I can't find a better player for #2 than James Harden.

The Celtics game you're referring to had bogus calls all over the place.

Jazz at the time we beat them were a top-5 defensive team in the league.

You're also not addressing any of the points I'm making. I'm assuming you'll agree that Harden is #2 best player in the league, making CP3 happy to be out of the Clips uniform where he was losing before the conf finals every season.

To be fair if the rockets didn't run into a stacked GSW in the WCF a few years back..we probably could have won it all. Winning a championship is not just about being talented yourself...but going up against the right teams at the right time.

    ok true, you're right

but is quitting dependent on going up against certain teams at a certain time?

Bogus calls were one of the many factors that caused us to lose the game. Regardless of blowing the 26 point lead, we would not have lost if not for the bs offensive foul calls.

But you are also right that we wouldnt have lost if we didnt choke away a big lead.

Celtics needed us to choke + ref help for the W. We wouldve won if just one of those two things went our way

we would have won if harden would have just MOVED or CUT to get the inbounds pass as opposed to LAZILY and BLATANTLY shoving marcus smart...
