Your daughter sounds like an amazing person. You should be a very proud father. Best wishes for a complete recovery.
YES! Amy came through her surgery well. She went in about 9:15 AM and came out of surgery about 1:30 PM. The doctor's were very pleased with what they saw and what they did. They replaced her pulmonary valve and did some other minor noodling around in there. She had a "kink" in one of the vessels from previous work. They straightened that out and indicated that that was causing more problem at present than the valve itself. She should be good to go for another decade or two before needing more medical attention like this. It's very hard to get a straight answer about what to expect. She could go 10, 15, 20 years or more before needing another replacement. No one can say for sure. We spoke with Amy briefly although she was more interested in the morphine and the sleep. I'll go back to see her tomorrow and send along another update. Thanks again for all the loving thoughts and powerful prayers on her behalf.
Outstanding! My wife's best friend got her MD from Duke and that gave me a good feeling when you mentioned it. She was in good hands. Wonderful! Tell her she has about 15,000 ClutchFans delighted with the news.
Thats awesome man... I'll tell you one thing, it will make her appreciate life much much more. Enjoy it.
It being 12:30 thursday mourning when I first looked here, I actually had anxiety reading through the thread knowing it was already done. Glad to see it went ok.
