I didn't notice that. You even called the damn injury, Gatti's left eye was swollen shut. Great call Shady!

My recap on last night's happenings.

I'm extremely impressed with Mayweather. I knew he was good. I had no idea he was that good. That was simply an old fashioned butt kicking. I'm not sure what was in Gatti's head leading up to last night. No way he's thinking it would be that hard just to get a punch off, let alone land one. Mayweather attacked smartly and just beat the hell out of Gatti. How he never went down (not couting the 1st round kd) was beyond me and just goes to show you the heart that Gatti has. Maybe he was missing his friend Mickey Ward in his corner. He's still my favorite boxer.

I think we'll see Gatti move up to 147 lbs., which is his more natural weight class. Mayweather still has plenty of opponents to tackle at 140 lbs before he'll most likely move up in weight. I'm not sure there is anyone that can beat him right now. He is just that good. I would like to see him take on Hatton and Cotto. Once he finishes them off, can you imagine him moving up into the same division as Zab Judah, De La Hoya, Mosely, and Margarito? I think he would take them all. A fight with Judah would be a classic. I'd also eventually love to see him get up to middleweight. Either way, he's going to win a lot more fights as long as he keeps out of trouble.

Overall, it was worth the money. The undercards weren't bad. Got to see Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. win a knockout. He looks like he's going to be good.

Got to see some mini-flyweights. At 105 lbs, these guys don't exactly have the power part, but they are fun to watch.

Vivian Harris, who is supposed to be considered an up and comer in the same 140 lb class, was whooped and completely outclassed by Carlos Maussa. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone take a punch like Maussa. Harris beat on him at multiple junctures in the fight and got nothing out of it. It was only a matter when, not if, Maussa would connect. He did and Harris went down.

I thought throwing a punch when the other guy was already down was against the rules.

The referee said it was insignificant in this case.

It is. Not sure what Maussa was thinking there. Technically, he didn't hit him. He hit the rope. Still shouldn't have done it but I guess he was a bit too caught up in the moment.
