Delicious. We just tried this in Puerto Vallarta, although I'm told it's not really a food you find in Jalisco. Anyway, where can we find this in Houston? Soooo good. Yeah, google might help, and it might not.
A pozole thread and a menudo thread at the same time..... When did Mexicans overtake all the Asians on CF?
You noticed that? My wife and I thought, "Isn't this like a Mexican San Francisco?" But it's awesome. We're at the Grand Miramar.
When did that become a thing? I've been there 3 times, but not in about 12 years, and never noticed anything like that. Anyways: give this a shot, @ROXTXIA https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/mexican-chicken-pozole-verde
Not sure. I haven't been here in forever. But there's a very noticeable presence. I asked the concierge about it. He said, yeah, PV has become a bit of a safe haven for the gay community in Mexico. There are even drag queen, Liza Minnelli-ish shows. Not that we care in a negative sense. It's interesting, and very noticeable. And an awesome place for anyone, straight or gay. Thanks for the help.
Tre Piatti is really good Italian, and the whole fish at Joe Jacks is pretty awesome too. Actually, I'm not sure I've had a bad meal in that town. I could pretty easily move to Mexico.
We we're at Lix one night waiting for ice cream when one of the drag queen performers was walking down the street and chatting with everyone. She looked like something out of Hairspray......or one of the older ladies on Hee Haw. Not sure what my nine year old son made out of all that. I'm pretty honest and open with him when he has questions on just about everything, but I may have limited the conversation that night.
Next time anyone is there, you have to go to Los Arbolitos, if not for dinner (which I remember being good) then just for the "special coffee" for dessert. Made tableside in an old-school milkshake glass, it involved espresso, 3 or so shots of tequila, fire, vanilla ice cream and some other stuff. It was ridiculous.
