Why are Kenyan immigrants and citizens in America have the highest attainment of PhD degree holders of any ethnic group in America?

Same reasons why Asians are disproportionately in high tech fields... Because we select immigrants who are from more wealthier background in Asian and African countries.

 

To answer that, I'd have to make generalizations about blacks in a way that people would interpret negatively. I won't be providing an answer to that question.

 

Yea right even Afghanis manage to get to Sugar Land within 5 years of living in the States. Immigrants that can't speak lick of English manage to be at least middle class (or close to it). Immigrants usually have much greater work ethic. They came here because they wanted to come her and build a better life for themselves. Which is why it's interesting how Trump and the right hates immigrants. Immigrants are usually the hardest working people out there. They came here with nothing and to become even middle class is great achievement given the language challenges.

 

This has nothing to do with DEI (other than possibly considering diverse viewpoints as a huge strength for the team) or quotas, but is based on my experience with team hiring and as someone who has interviewed dozens of candidates.

When you hire someone, qualifications are a baseline but not the be-all and end-all. Other factors include whether the person can work well with the team, whether they provide a unique perspective, and even whether they might be overqualified (among many other factors). Overqualified candidates might become bored with the job and eventually leave. Since onboarding is very expensive, it's important for us to assess whether someone will stay long-term.

 

I mean it's party that and partly we chose immigrants from African and Asian countries that are disproportionately well off. 99.9% of the people my parents come from would have zero shot at immigrating to the US. My parents came from the top .1% of wealth from their home country.giving them access to the top private schools and tutors in said country where it's easier to get accepted and sponsored by a American university.

They say they are great, dependable, workers without drug problems and they are revitalizing a once dying town. Of course its gotta be done right. Anytime you bring (any) people in thousands to a small town like that, its not gonna sit well with the people living there. I mean when Katrina happened lotta people from NOLA moved to Houston n that was an adjustment for all of us, n they're Americans not foreigners. I mean its just common sense, but you choose not to acknowledge it.

 

But instead of saying. "Hey we might want to distribute some to other places due to the impact of so many on the community" you want legal immigrants deported.
