How so? He said "famous means well known. popular means well liked". It can be easily argued that someone that is famous is both well known and well liked. Likewise, it can be said that someone who is popular can be both well known and well liked.

Not a bad power ranking at all. Do I think this team will be 29th in the league, not at all but when you look at the west ON PAPER I really can't name more than one or two teams who we have a better roster than..

I honestly don't know. From what I remember someone posted that he was one of the most popular players in the world. Someone responded saying no, that he is popular only in the US and Asian countries. Then I responded and said no, people in London, Europe, Latin American and Africa know who he is. Then I think somebody else said that they live in Australia and that there nobody knows who LBJ is but people know Kobe and Lin. Lol. It was a pretty trivial conversation really. It has nothing to do with this thread to be honest.

Well. That sucks for the people of Houston then. I really cannot see the Rockets winning a lot of games. But that is just me. I have cousins who live in Houston and they are still excited about the season even though the team is going to be young.

    Yes they do.

I have a friend in Southern Tajikistan, and his jersey is the most popular selling item in the country.

Depends on sport. I don't recall the Reliant being empty when they were bad.

    No. It's because...
"Not since Daryl Morey has one who has done so little been lauded so much"

You really think we will be a 15-20 win team?

28th here, 29th here, and ESPN released their rankings today.

    Rockets come in at 26th
[rquoter]Better to be stockpiling trade assets and scheming from lottery land to finally pull off a blockbuster than chase a playoff spot. The Rockets, sporting J-Lin and Kev Martin and not much else these days after Orlando spurned all their Dwight proposals, are about to seriously test that theory.[/rquoter]

Underdog baby :D it's probably a little too low but a roster full of forwards and unproven rookies is a huge question mark. You can have good players in Parsons, Lin, Martin & Asik but that doesn't necessarily translate to a good team. The explanation is a bit harsh but who cares.

29th is a good place to be. More opportunity to see people eat crow.

Kobe, Lebron are also easily way more famous. Rabid fanboyism to the max I suppose.

JLin is definitely one of the most famous/well known athlete WW

Even the taxi drivers and door men in Paris have heard about him.
