How's the knees? Isn't that the "report" on why he thought about retiring? I didn't think tendinitis was so serious.
Who knows! A lot of sportswriters are calling Franchise's recent play miraculous since he was saying he had a season ending injury in February. Obviously that would make his knees a miraculous recovery in order to play at that level. Lots of stuff goes on in the Knicks organization that makes absolutely no sense. Like David Lee being benched even though he's their leading rebounder. Or Isiah's inexplicable love affair with Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury. Or why Isiah keeps saying he'll start Jared Jeffries even though this makes absolutely no sense at all since his EFF is 7.15%. How about picking Renaldo Blackmon with the Knicks first pick last year? So now Francis is claiming he's got knee problems? How about Francis being sick and tired of Isiah's games and his lack of playing time that he sandbags a knee injury and comes back to his home in Houston to supposedly rehab?
Bring Steve back. People can't judge his statistic declined because of the lack of minutes playing. I believe Steve has learned Rockets is not HIS team anymore. Lets have him back!
Yes. He's got the hot hot music, the hot music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkUlsl6ZhJs He'd make a great 2 coming off the bench, and he'd make a legit 3rd scorer who can drive, something that Adelman loves. I'm all for bringing Franchise back. And if he signs for virtually nothing? Who can argue against that?
it would be a great great pickup if he actually was bought out. i think for all of us rational believers of stevie, the only real problem standing between our way was if he's actually going to be bought out against. I do think we're the #1 option for steve because of his love for the city and his relationship with Yao. After the devastating experience in New York, I don't think he minds being the third option so long as he gets to play heavy minutes. I say we get a 80% chance of getting him once he's bought out.
Hey those are great numbers. And though I'd love to have Steve back, one has to wonder how many shots did it take to get those point totals? What percentage did he shoot? How many turnovers did he have? Did they win those games?
The numbers are out there for all to see on NBA's website Francis Game by Game Statistics http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steve_francis/game_by_game_stats.html
His numbers were also pretty good early season until Bruce Bowen undercut him and he sprained his ankle on Nov.6th.
his minutes went all over the place...can't blame the guy for being frustrated. just a thought... with all the talk of needing a PF who can rebound...if you had a backcourt consisting of Francis and Bonzi...you could throw just about anyone out there and pretty much clean the glass... francis, bonzi, t-mac and yao are all above avg rebounders at their respective positions (at least stat-wise in yaos case)...the idea of rashard or battier at the 4 with that line-up doesn't sound as damning in the rebound dept...
New York is one big gigantic soap opera. If they could give out awards for worst coach/exectutive in charge of player selection the award should go to Isiah Thomas. He even got a sexual harrassment charge against him. Pairing Stephon Marbury with Franchise is going to go down as one of the all time dumb ideas. Both guards are the same dribble/penetrating guards who need to dominate the ball. Later in the season Isiah switched from being guard focused in mid year to inside out when he finally realized that Marbury/Francis was never going to work. Far be it for Isiah to listen to any basketball experts who are now basically saying, "I told you so". Neither guard ever played very well scoring wise when paired with each other. They both took away from each other. He benched David Lee when he was putting up 10 rebound per game. Unbelievable. The one thing he did do right this year was switch to slamming the ball into Eddie Curry and then throwing the ball back out. It was the only way that Isiah could say he had improvement and keep his job. Think back to draft day when he selected Renaldo Blackmon? Renaldo is a servicable player so Isiah lucked out. Not sure he would get playing time on any other team though and I think that Isiah had to play him to show justification. Remember draft day when the people in New York were thinking. ?????
If you thought the Fire Gundy calls were bad in Houston. At least we never put up a site like this. LOL http://www.petitiononline.com/isiah/petition.html
How bout this one? LOL This Fire Isiah Thomas site take the cake. Hilarious! http://www.firethomas.com/
Shouldn't be any suprise that there are multiple reasons for Franchise to be frustrated in NY. Almost everyone, with the exception of Dolan and Thomas are publically calling for a buyout of the Franchise's contract to clear a valuable spot on the roster for a player who wants to be there and fits better with Starbury.
if SF3 comes back for minimum, I am all in. but SF3 still has 34.5 mils 2 seasons left. So, the buyout probably wont happen until next season's trade deadline or after next season.
