with yao, mac, wells, francis , we'll be hitting 100 regularly under adelman.

make this happen. please. then a combination of alston and francis will solve the PG problem.

now all we need is to steal a paul millsap with the 26th pick. :D

yes that is the truth, but the people that think vspan is going to be so great think they have better chances.

uh...we'll take anybody! Ryan Bowen ring a bell? How about John Lucas III? If there is something resembling talent out there that actually wants to play for the Rockets and is willing to come cheap, why not? They should never pass on that, especially when he can play the position the Rockets need most (well...its a toss up with PF) I personally don't think Francis is as washed up as most people believe and in any case he is a huge upgrade over Vspan, Luther Head as a point, and JLIII. The Rockets do this without hesitating if it is even a remote possibility.

Speaking of Vspan...you can add me to the list also Luffy. The guy doesn't have the right attitude to make it in this league, and he's not gifted enough to make up for that. Most likely scenario for Greekmac - He rides the bench all next year, finishes his contract and goes back to Europe, never to set foot on an NBA court again.

I shudder to think we might have to suffer through watching Stevie at the 3 point line, ignoring a wide open Yao, dribbling, dribbling, dribbling - hmm, 2 seconds left on the clock - time to a) launch a wild shot, b) attempt to dribble through 3 defenders and turn the ball over or c) make a pass that will be received with .1 seconds left.

In his youth he was athletic and dumb. Now he's just dumb.

francis is not the answer. he cant spot up shoot, he cant make decisions, he cant operate a simple pick and roll, and he dribbles the ball for 20 seconds in one place. not to mention his low bball iq and you'll see why he is a horrible candidate for a motion offense.

And yet amazingly, that's still better than Rafer Alston.

for all the grief he may bring steve is a rocket through and through bring him back so i can bring out my francis jerseys out of the closet with pride.

but he is still under contract i dont know if new york will buy him out, hopefully they will. i can imagine francis taking a bit less money to come back and play here, but that could be the mle really i mean the guy still is a threat imo just in a real bad spot in new york.

i dont know what it is but guys who wear #3 on the rockets seem to be the heart, soul of the team

at least francis can create his own shot, and he can create shots for others. the rockets need that to free up t-mac to do what he does best....SCORE. i dont want t-mac to ever have so much responsibility for others to score again. its wearing him out and i think thats why he doesnt drive as much anymore.

Two years removed from a season in which he played 78 games and averaged 21/7/6 and some of you people really think he has nothing left? Unbelievable.

Two years ago, TMAC was much much better than he is today. Two years is a long time.

    Terrible example......

    04/05 25.7 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 5.7 APG, 43% FG, 32% 3-PT
    06/07 24.6 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 6.5 APG, 43% FG, 33% 3-PT

Yeah, he has the back problems now but he's still one of the best/most valuable players in the league when healthy.

One thing Francis had that we lack is passion for the game. At least he had before he left. I'm willing to bet he'll play with the same passion if he's a Rocket again. His decision making was never great, but I hope he can be helped by Adelman's system.

They might if it came with another player. I don't know - Isiah wants to build a contending team, but it's just not possible with the salary issue the Knicks have. If I were the Knicks I'd just trade away those crazy contracts anyway I could - even if it meant coupling them with picks, David Lee, or whoever to make it happen. The Knicks need to start over and that means clearing out all that cap space.

I don't think buying out Francis's contract is going to happen so maybe Francis is stuck with the Knicks.

Bring him home to the team that Stevie Built! He could come off the bench or he could start. Whatever works best for the Rockets. He'd be great as a sixth man like Barbosa for the Suns.

Steve Francis before Van Gundy 21 ppg 6.5 rpg
Steve Francis with Van Gundy 16.6 ppg 6.2 rpg

    Steve Francis Late April restart

    Apr 18 CHA 47min 8 boards 3 assists 24 pts
    Apr 16 NJN 46min 4 boards 3 assists 26 pts
    Apr 15 TOR 47min 5 boards 8 assists 28 pts
    Apr 13 NJN 44min 2 boards 7 assists 22 pts

Steve Francis Late Season after March 3rd to March 16th restart
    Mar 16 NOK 40 min 3 boards 10 assists 21 pts
    Mar 14 TOR 39 min 5 boards 4 assists 17 pts
    Mar 10 WAS 39 min 7 boards 3 assists 26 pts
    Mar 6 SEA 29 min 6 boards 3 assists 10 pts
    Mar 3 ATL 41 min 6 boards 3 assists 26 pts

Still think Stevie-O doesn't have anything left in the tank? Stevie Bashers should do a little investigating before throwing the dude on the trash heap. If Franchise is given the minutes, he'll still light it up.

If he's off, or goes into full dribble mode, you just sit his butt down. It's a no-brainer if he's been bought out and come cheap.
