Did you know why JR Smith was complaining about Lin in the first place? He was jealous that Lin is making more money than him.
I think that what OP brings up is valid. I have also had some concerns of players getting jealous of Lins contract and publicity, and getting too much attention. Similar to a Tebow problem. It may be nothing, but its worth discussing.
Again, (about the Knicks), JR Smith is the NEW guy. He strolls in 2nd half of the year after Lin ALREADY established himself day one. And he's talking about locker room issues acting like he has part ownership of the place. It'd be like Marcus Camby coming in midseason talking about how Goran Dragic can't make his money on what the open market gives him, and that it'd be "upsetting" to everyone else. Except WORSE. At least Camby is an elder statesman and lives in Houston.
Probably doesnt. Its why he's concentrating on his contract year rather than the team dynamic. Really I can't blame him. Just go to work like Luis Scola, do what you can and let business and stuff take care of themselves.
You expressed my opinion perfectly. I'm about as white as you can get, so I don't really have any personal experience to back this up, but I can't help but think that in addition to jealousy, there is some mild racism going on here. I think Yao experienced it a little as well, but never enough to really talk about. Lin will never be a member of the club, no matter how well he plays. Also, Yao's history here should help Lin out as well.
We don't have JR Smith in our locker room, so we're fine. I haven't been a fan of Morey, but if he can land Bynum I think the Rockets will have something to build on between him and Lin. Both are young and have great upside. Howard doesn't want to be here, so I don't think I want him here either.
