Fair enough to all the comments.

    I like being a smartass.

The difference is I do it to a particular post rather than the poster, themself.

The Rockets finally won a series, so hopefully all is good.

All is good. A reply would be good regarding the potential of this thread, but in the grand scheme of Rocket fans, all is good for now.

I see that you're adopting my posting style with double spaced lines, Mr. Fatty. I am honored.

No kidding. This thread has gone the way of Eddie Griffin. Started with so much potential, then kinda was just there, and then dead.

Don't groan at me. It's been long enough. And he was drunk.

Drew was very easy to find.

I found out a lot about him on google within 10 minutes of searching.

Sadly, he never accepted my facebook request.

The girl on the other hand was different altogether. Her name and email address I was not able to track down anywhere.

    bummer.

Wow I hope you never have a relative or someone you care about with a mental disease. You obviously haven't.

He was a druggie and an alcoholic. His blood was .26 at the time of the crash and he could have killed a whole bunch of people by driving. I don't feel bad for him.

riiiiiight because i'm sure he wanted to be an alcoholic and golly gee he was just so undisciplined he deserved it. Ask yourself why these things happen. Obviously there was something chemically wrong with him; people don't want to be manic and depressed.

This might deserve a branch out into it's own thread, probably focusing on:

At what point does personal responsibility turn into mental incapability?

Are all alcoholics "chemically imbalanced" ? All druggies?

    Nature or nurture?

You're right Rockets R' Us it deserves its own thread and you should definitely start it. Common in our society is a fundamental misunderstanding of what addiction truly means.

"Addiction is a chronic relapsing brain disease. Brain imaging shows that addiction severely alters brain areas critical to decision-making, learning and memory, and behavior control, which may help to explain the compulsive and destructive behaviors of addiction."

Do I want drunk Eddie Griffin crashing into my family's car and killing them? No. Do I have a deep sympathy for his life and hardships? Absolutely.

And Hitler didn't want to be a megalomaniac who killed millions. Poor guy got rejected in Art school. I feel for him and forgive him.
