I'd still leave off FVv and Dillon FVv: if I was a scout and saw a product coming out of college, 5'11", no vertical leap, slow-ish, so-so shooter; i'd say that player would struggle to get his shot off, trouble penetrating/driving while unable to draw multiple defenders. Defensive liability in a SWITCH EVERYTHING DEFENSE. This has been proven correct if judging starter minutes without Lowry. Dillon Brooks: PER of 9 is well below average. Days of defensive specialist like Tony Allen, Sefalosha, & Ben Simmons are becoming the past, fast. At least you could count on them to refrain from shooting....Dillon is going to take 15 FGA's per game. ______________ For those reasons, I expect both FVv and Dillon to continue being poor FG% shooters....while each forcing up about 15 FGA's each. Yep, 30 or so of our approx 90 possessions will be by these two. Both will be shooting us in the feet. Imo.
You left out: Yao Scola Brooks VWafer Harden Hakeem Ralph Newlin Murphy Kunnert Well the list goes on and on. DD
I feel like an expansion team picking FVV would be kind of a weird choice anyway. He costs you draft lottery odds without actually making you a good team. I'd be avoiding high-end, overpaid, non-star starters like that.
The league has changed a bit since the last expansion draft, but during that draft there were 19 players selected and only two had more than 3 years of NBA experience. I’m not sure if salary floor rules or things like that are adjusted for expansion teams, but strategically speaking, I wouldn’t want to take any players who are 30+ who have a positive VORP. You are trying to find players with untapped potential. I think you could leave FVV unprotected and he still wouldn’t get drafted, unless the team is forced to meet minimum salary requirements.
