    What case?

We are not better than the Spurs. But do we have to like them? No.
    Case dismissed.

Ratings for the Finals are down 25 percent from last year. The Pistons are in it in both years so the variable is the SPURs.
One in Four people would rather do anything than watch the Spurs play.

    Fact.

Another fact. we need to beat down Dallas and San Antonio next year to show that Houston is the superior team, town, population, basketball playing place in Texas. We (REAL ROCKETS FANS) will not let the town who lost to Mexico and the town who got JFK shot, be ahead of us!!

    Houston Rockets fan=Houston Rockets fan
Houston Rockets fan <> Spurs fan

    Dear Les Alexander:

    1. Bring Robert Horry back to the Rockets. All those bricks by our PFs and Juwan being MIA in the the playoffs and Horry getting his 6th proves that he is a hero.

    2. I hope you like to know that a Spurs fan can tell the Rockets fan that they have more Championships. This is WORSE than the LAKERS WINNING IT AGAIN.

    3. All that the great Hakeem has worked for has gone in reverse. We had 2 more championships than the anyone in the state of Texas. Look at us now Les.

    4. This is a dark day in Houston Rockets history. This is worse than Stockton hitting the 3 on us.

    5. This is one of the most agonizing post seasons of all time. I want to go to the Riverwalk and barf all the Taco Cabana out of me.

    :D funny stuff.

I just can't wait for training camp to start and to see how much improvement Yao and the rest of the team has made.

I still hate the trade sent Horry and cassel for Barkley. You can see Horry is the smartest even not best guy at court tonight.

I hope that a meteor would hit the planet so we can forget this tragic day in human history.

Good Lord, tip your hat to the Spurs and say they played a hell of a series. The series might as well have been a best of 3 (the first 4 games were tragically laughable), but they beat a good team.

And how is it embarassing for the Rockets organization? We won 2 championships, they've won 2.5/3. At least we're still beating Dallas. Seriously, there is more time for the Rockets to regain the Texas title crown. Once the NBA folds, then start all this lamenting. But for now, just enjoy the fact that we have a very promising nucleus. And the Spurs obviously took a page from the Rockets winning formula: a "dominant" big man and a supporting cast that knows how to pick its spots. If anything, the Rockets organization should be proud that other teams are emulating their formula.

Who was it that said, "Now days we look at it as if you win a championship one year it's no good, you got to win it two years in a row. You got to go back, you got to show everybody that the one year wasn't a fluke?"

Not really. The Spurs are a great team. The Rockets had two of the greatest teams of all time. How do you know Les didn't try to get Horry back? Perhaps Horry was not interested in returning to the Rockets. The Rockets will have more championships to come as they continue to mature and build around Yao and T-Mac.

All this sort of squabbling is kind of silly. It's just a game that kids play (little kids) that adults also play. Some people act as if the NBA is going to war with Iraq. And none of the Rocket fans are playing with the team anyway, so how can the pronoun "we" be utilized.

A lot of Rocket fans just need to relax and grow up. You have Rocket fans out there who still hate Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone and John Stockton or despise Drexler because he smiled at the conclusion of the last game of his career. Of course when some true fans had suggested acquiring Karl Malone, a cluster of "Rocket Fans" made statements that they would break his kneecaps at the airport or not support the team.

I think Rocket fans would be thrilled if Karl Malone, John Stockton or Bruce Bowen played on their team. Let's be honest here.

The revelation of extreme violence coveted by some fans as well as the unforgiveness and bemoaning is one of the reasons I don't post on this site very often. Good day.

Dear Les, I speak for myself as a true rockets fan. Please put tinman on your ignore list and move on. We drafted Yao (who can play in the NBA) and traded for Mcgrady. We made significant moves this year to build a team that will be contenders for years to come. Bravo. Ignore this guy.

You're not a real fan. You're a moron. A real fan doesn't lament and demand changes from 10 years ago. You look to improve. You want a team with 6 championships? Go west or north young man. Better yet... GET SOME CLASS. You sound like a 12 year old who lost a vital game of kickball.

What a moron. I'm not a Rockets fan? Because I don't mind seeing another team from Texas win? Why exactly do you hate the Spurs? I hate Utah, Boston and the Mavs much more than the Spurs. S.A. has never cost us anything. In fact they usually lie down and whimper when we play in the playoffs. Let's not forget how we steamrolled them with Akeem. They have never taken anything from us. They haven't really threatened us even. Get over yourself and your complex lets look at the facts.

S.A. might one day be like Houston. No matter how many championships they have they're still an afterthought in the world of sports.

S.A. is the benificiary of good fortune when D-rob got hurt they got the first pick (shhhh... we tanked it to get the first pick in 83).

Head to head they have never cost us anything. In the best series these two teams have ever played Hakeem turned their MVP into a joke.

We have much bigger rivals to deal with than S.A. How about Dallas. If you wanna get pissed get pissed about a 40pt thumping in game 7. Or losing a series up 2-0 coming home. You're not a real Rockets fan. You're a guy who is pissed because the rockets jersey he wears doesn't look quite as bright in the post season. You didn't say anything of substance, didn't offer any suggestions (begging to get horry back doesn't count, neither does that half sentence about the draft pick) you just whinned. In fact perhaps you should move to Dallas, there you have even more (or less since they have 0) to b**** about. Whatever you do don't drag me down to your detroit class of fandom. Give them some respect.

    Mike

"We" = Rockets fans = part of the team because we pay them and cheer for them.

I'm comparing this to Planet of the Apes, not Iraq.

    1. the Spurs are the champs, Dallas is not.
    2. Really Spursmike, i'm happy that we lost by 40pts cause losing by 41pts would be worse.
    3. Spursmike, ah, testing my Rocket fan level?
    I have this :

Tinbitc... err Tinbaby (since we're renaming people on the board now)

Hmm... you're proving your rocket fan level with some rice and magnets? My hill of beans that were sitting next to Hakeem's corn at the buffet he ate at trumps all.. Come on man get real. A picture of Hakeem on a box of rice proves nothing. I don't care if you have a few of his pubic hairs surgically implanted to supplement your grassy knoll. I was at game 1 of the 94 series. I spent 200 to get in the door. I spent another 30 on the hat from the championship year. The following year I took a ferry from Shekou China to Hong Kong so I could sit in a little bar in the Hilton to watch the games. So don't question my love of the Rockets or compare it. I shook Hakeem's hand in Jakarta Indonesia while he was getting ready to do a coke commercial. At the ripe old age of 9 I recognized Allen Leveal in a Men's Wearhouse and got his autograph on a Men's Wearhouse reciept. Need we go on? So you saved a box of rice (even if that's a legit autograph I probably wasn't in the country when they sold it). My dad dropped me off at Strait Jesuit's at 6:00 in the moring because he had to be in at work, but I wanted to go to Calvin Murphy's basketball camp which began at 8:00. I was born in houston and am barely old enough to remember trips to watch some african guy with a funny name run up and down the floor with a guy named Clyde for a group named something slammin jammin (Phi Slamma Jamma).

I'm sure you're happy we lost by fourty because I contest that you are not a true fan. I support the rockets when they're winning and losing. Hmm... I wore my Ming Jersey THE DAY AFTER WE GOT HUMILIATED. I have an old Horry and Casel, as well as a Brooks jersey. Maxwell ha!!! you don a brooks jersey then you're a fan.

I'm reading a book on parenting (I have a two year old) and one way you can tell that children are progressing socially is they start to worry more about what they have and don't have than what other kids have and don't have. Whatever resources you expend writing your anti-spurs crap would be much better spent urging the rox to make the right move.

PERSONALLY I HOPE THE SPURS KEEP WINNING!!! I WANT TO TAKE THEM OUT WHEN THEY'RE IN CHAMPIONSHIP FORM. I WANT DALLAS TOO.... I WANT TO BEAT 3 GOOD TEAMS ON OUR WAY TO THE FINALS IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND I WANT THE SPURS AND MAV'S TO BE ON THAT LIST. NOTHING WOULD MAKE ME HAPPIER THAN TO SEE US RUN THROUGH UTAH (AS AN 8 SEED) DALLAS AS THE 4 SEED AND SAN ANTONIO AS THE NUMBER 2 SEED!!!

But am I concerned about what they're doing now.. hell no... the season ended when the buzzer sounded man. We wern't in it so some broken down team from the tip of southern america could have won it for all I care. You don't want the Spurs to win? Fine tinbaby... but you sound like you want the spurs to lose more than you want the rockets to win.

    lets try this again

    TINBABY...

    1. We didn't get beat by the Spurs.
    2. We did get beat by Dallas.
    3. I'm more concerned with us winning than San Antonio losing.
    4. Your're not.

Ok so you love rice and you're a Maxwell Fan. Nice but go home.

You better shave those implants... grow some peach fuzz cause I'm out of school. You're playing with the big boys where post count and rice boxes don't matter. Ever heard worry about yourself? How many championships will we win if CD follows your example and spends all day petitioning the league to have S.A. kicked out or banned from championship contention? Better yet what if he starts blaiming management for moves 10 years ago? Boy that'll get us far. "Dammit if only we wouldn't have picked Ralph Sampson and Buck Johnson." I noticed that your criticism didn't include shipping 3 picks to NJ for a gun waving girlfriend missing sniper who can hit a J. (no pun intended)

Since you're in school i guess... and i'm not Michael Jackson... "I don't want to touch that". Go explore yourself, your rice box (I'm sure you have a preference to long grain), and stick your "cool" M.C. Hammer pictures up on your refrigerator with your rare, but unimpressive Maxwell magnets.

    I say again...
