I have... One of my co-workers smokes pot daily and is one of the smartest men in the company! He was so valued for his work and mind that he was given retention bonuses at a record pace...

I used to ask him whether he thought he would be even smarter if he didn't use the pot, but he said no b/c he felt it calmed him and made him think clearer...

but seriously, this guy was hands down the smartest guy around.

You and MrsJB? Oh, I see what this is about- MrsJB must be your spouse.

Your wife tells me I am going to hell and I defend myself, so you attack me in another thread. Talk about a conflict of interest!!

If you want to have a BBS that allows the promotion of drug use while allowing minors to post here, that is your choice.

I have the right to say you are being highly irresponsible.

You have the right to kick me off, but if you do, we both know the real reason. I am sure your wife is a big girl that does not need you to defend her this way.

    Have a wonderful day.:)

You do know its possible to discuss something without promoting it, right? Or are you promoting terrorism when you discuss it?

    tbagain,

this site does not promote drug use anymore than it promotes a husband and wife tandem double teaming your ass.

This site promotes the 1st Amendment. I don't see the fore-fathers of this country thinking mar1juana was high on their list.

move on dude, you are so wrong about this site promoting anything other the the most important Bill of Rights in the existence of any modern government.

Even frigid, tight-laced, librarians who dropped out of the convent support the 1st Amendment...what does that make you.

Born Again,,,,as in To Be Again...as in tbagain. Mr. self-righteous-tell-me-I-should-be-like-you and tell me what I can talk about.

Self-righteous mudslingers are what the kids on this bbs don't need to see. We should ban YOU for corrupting the YOUTH to not believe in the 1st Amendment.

Throughout the history of mankind, it is attitudes like yours that have created the world's worst govt-based censorship of individual expression The only thing worse for the evolution of mankind than individual censorship is genocide. It is curious how one begats the other.

    your turn tbagain

So....has anyone ever taken a lit joint, put the unlit end into a straw, put the lit end in their mouth (watch those lips...don't burn 'em), then slowly blew smoke through the straw into the bottom of a VERY frozen beer mug.

I heard that it will condense into a small, dense, cold, pot smoke "cloud" that you can "drink" out of the beer mug.

I hear it will give you a wicked head rush. I hear some people just fall over afterwards.

    Can anyone confirm this?

I love it when people get righteously indignant about other people getting righteously indignant. Got to love it.

To be fair, I've seen Jeff or some administrator shut down some threads on drugs when they did get out of hand...but this one is just a legit discussion on health ramifications...

Personally, I don't know if mar1juana is bad for you or not...I don't do it and never have. Right now it's against the law, and it's something I can easily avoid doing. I'd rather not do it and avoid the risk of losing my law license. That's just me, though! :)

Tenacious D, the Greatest Band on Earth, is on the cover of High Times! Wow!!! Gotta read it!!

Oh, wait... I shouldn't plug a band that's promoting a magazine that endorses the use of illegal drugs. "Six Degrees of mar1juana" rules here, I guess.

Why thank you. I think that I will take my turn.

You are wrong on all points. I never said that this site endorsed drug use. My complaint is that I don't agree with this site allowing posters to influence minors with pro-drug messages. Nobody can argue that smoking pot is not bad for teenagers! Their brains have not finished developing physically, and mar1juana will affect their proper growth.

You also don't understand the 1st amendment apparently. I have no right to speak freely here, because the owner of this website is free to control the content. The 1st amendment only applies to governmental restriction of free speech. If you want to properly teach these youngsters about our freedom, then at least get it right!

I have called for a little common sense here, so youngsters are not confused by the idea that responsible adults think it is "cool" to get high and waste time. You have embarassed yourself by misinterpreting the real threat to kids here, and showing your complete misunderstanding of the 1st amendment and censorship.

    Have a great day.:)

You obviously did not read Rockhead's first post, or you would not have directed this question to me.

I feel so left out...tbagai has never been mean to me.

By the way, rockHEAD's first post is basically true:

    1. Limited schizophrenia can sometimes be caused by getting high.
    2. mar1juana has been used for some time as a healing agent, thus the term "medicinal mar1juana."

In any event, any drug (including alcohol, tobacco, over-the-counter, and prescription) have the potential to harm. Additionally, as oily stated, breathing smoke into your lungs is generally not a good thing. :)

    Stop, drop, and roll.

    edit:

Oh yeah...RM95 - I don't really care where you go, but do try to avoid Dallas. In case you don't know, it is the land from which evil was born. I have an ancient historical/religious text that says so.

    Let us burn one
    from end to end
    and pass it over
    to me my friend
burn it long, we'll burn it slow
to light me up before I go

if you don't like my fire
    then don't come around
cause I'm gonna burn one down
yes I'm gonna burn one down

my choice is what I choose to do
and if I'm causing no harm
    it shouldn't bother you
your choice is who you choose to be
and if your causin' no harm
    then you're alright with me

if you don't like my fire
    then don't come around
cause I'm gonna burn one down
yes I'm gonna burn one down

herb the gift from the earth
    and what's from the earth
    is of the greatest worth
so before you knock it try it first
    you'll see it's a blessing
    and not a curse

if you don't like my fire
    then don't come around
cause I'm gonna burn one down
yes I'm gonna burn one down

tbagain--You're saying they should remove this thread because high-schoolers might be reading it. Obviously you're not in or were recently in High School because that is so ridiculous. High school students aren't stupid. They don't need their mommy shielding them from the world. They can make decisions on their own and develop their own opinions and stances on issues. Just because I see someone supporting smoking weed doesn't mean I'll say, "Wow this adult says smoking weed is cool, so I should go try it."

This is a message board for all, not just some super conservative extreme right-winged Gestapo who want to censor everything...

"My complaint is that I don't agree with this site allowing posters to influence minors with pro-drug messages. "

They aren't influencing anyone. They are voicing their opinions and thoughts. If you don't want your kids to look at this site then buy Net Nanny and let your kid be innocent all his life...

I personally don't think Admins should cut anything unless it's vulgar, pornographic, or troll posts & repetitive threads...

hmmm, where did I accuse you of that? Typical tactics from a backpedaling self-righteous censor (please Clutch, for the sake of children). Protect the Children, or you are being irresponsible. You did say the BBS Admins are acting "less responsibly than you"...explain to me what Self-Righteous is?

    Your turn tbagain....

And while you are thinking, let me explain the 1st Amendment and the limit of protection the Supreme Court provides.

The lame ass, Administrators rule speech and THEY AREN'T DOING ENOUGH, argument. Sounds like book burning to me. Let me try...hmmm...since school Librarians can shuush people in the library and you can't say anything you want, is it not much of a stretch to say...why not control content in the library, too. Should I be able to cut and paste anything into this site, or is that against the 1st Amendment?

Your expression of the 1st Amendment not covering a free Interent BBS is plan wrong, and the Supreme Court says so. Like when the TV companies censor something, like that goes against the 1st Amendment? Or when talk radio cuts you off, that takes away your 1st Amendment rights? No it doesn't. It is called trying to maintain readership and listenership without going to far into the realm of censorship, or the Govt taking away BBS's like this.

As far as censorship going against the 1st Amendment...nothing protects your right to be blatantly offensive...obcenity and offensiveness is not protected by the Supreme Court, and that includes blatant talk of drugs according. The Supreme ruled to defer judgement to the "community level." Welcome to the community, tbagain.

Main point is that what is utterly lost on your righteous tbAgain-ness, is that this site is far more concerned about freedom of speech than your suggestion for censorship regarding a topic that is not blatantly offensive or merely foolish....like posting about how drunk you are.

This reminds me a lot of TroyBaros. As usual with most people who don't make it on the board very long, it is attitude over argument.

Troy spent so much time telling everyone what asses they were for not believing him that, no matter what information he gave, the vast majority of posters WANTED him to be wrong so they could eventually slap the holy hell out of him for it.

He could have predicted Kevin Garnett would get traded to the Rockets for a pack of Juicy Fruit and been RIGHT and many of us would have wanted to send KG back to the T-Wolves just so we wouldn't have to admit Troy was right.

See, tbagain, you are on that path. This isn't about right or wrong. This isn't about Mrs JB. She can indeed handle herself just fine.

Point is, you don't go into your neighbor's yard and take a **** in his garden before asking if he actually wants the fertilizer. You just end up making an enemy and getting **** thrown at your head.

Have an EXTREMELY nice day. :D

heyp- I think that's the funniest line I've ever read on this bbs.

tbagain- Your favorite president(G-Dub) was known to smoke plenty of herb in his younger days. I'd call him an OVERACHIEVER.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, they grew it. Some of your favorite musicians probably smoke(d) it. Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley. Personally, I know doctors, lawyers, CEO's and other businessmen, farmers, bankers, mothers, fathers, grandparents and clergy members that smoke Ganja. It has been used in Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and Native American religious ceremonies long before you came up with your notion. Woody Harrelson, Merle Haggard, Darryl Kile (God rest his Soul)........., etc.

Gen 1.29 God said, "See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food."

I have to look at neon lights and big billboards all over my city depicting the pleasures of alcohol. Drinking alcohol is destructive. Herb is the healing of the nation. Do right, do right, do right. God bless.
