WOW! I don't know if this is good or bad, tough. Screams pr-move only. What experience does Bidge have running a front office?

Home run on the PR part though.

The best possible PR move the 'Stros could make. I think he would do a fine job, he has a great feel for the organization and the game itself.

This is a team in DESPERATE need of a face for the franchise that the fans aren't disgusted with as we currently are with Crane.

If Crane has any sense at all he will make sure there is a TV deal in place soon, and name the new club president the day before the deal is announced. They need some PR help in a bad bad way right now

Maybe, but there sure has been a lot come out today that points to him not being a very nice person. With Crane already at the head of this ship, they probably need someone there who has a little bit of people skills

Biggio would work very hard and stay out of trouble, but not a big believer in advanced statistics and can be very stubborn and hard to work with. I wouldn't hire him.

GP was just an *******, but the owner signed off on everything he did.

Biggio will turn it down. He's destined to become a coach...not sit in a front office.

Although, he could lay the groundwork to make sure Kohl Stewart and Cavan Biggio let teams know there is little chance of them skipping college...for 2nd and 3rd round steals.

No idea what Biggio's "destiny" is, but if you are a lifelong Astro and have the chance to be the President of the club, I would bet he will listen to what they have to say. Probably would depend on whether or not he thought Crane was the kind of guy he would want to work for

Wasn't Postolos the one that said Dierker's complaints were sour grapes? Let Deshaies go to the ******* Cubs. Brought us this CSN disaster. See ya Postolos, *******.

Agree with all of this except him bringing us the CSN disaster. He might not have done anything to help settle it, that i'm confident of. But Les and Drayton started that, and Crane and Les should have made sure deals were in place before agreeing to anything with comcast. Of course, with Crane's past record in business, he was gonna do whatever he needed to just get the team in the first place.

Actually, from what I recall, he has been involved with this RSN business even back when he worked for the Rockets. He was in it as deep as anyone.

I love Biggio (my favorite astro of all time) but I agree with the above posters saying this is a 'pr' move...who knows how effective he is RUNNING an organization, which I assume the President does?? No experience running a business (if thats true) to running the Astros is a stretch. I hope that if he is considered, he has something to back up/beef up his business experience other than being a lifetime, legendary Astro.

The one thing biggio is good at is being good at PR. He ain't going to say something stupid. What else do you need the president to do?

The average fan has never heard of Postolos.

The damage is done, and it's on Crane who's always been the face.

Biggio has been pretty clear that he's not interested in the travel. I know a guy who knows a guy (antecdotal, I know..but I'm serious) who knows Craig well and says he'd be shocked if he ever took a coaching job in MLB.

He had been linked to the Woodlands AAA deal...the potential of moving a team there for the Astros. That seems perfect to me for him.

I have no idea how he'd do as CEO of an MLB club. I'd love him as the face of our franchise though.

Scapegoat for what though? The team is terrible, but no one puts that on Postolos...he's a business guy, not affecting what happens on the field.

It's interesting that the media closest to the media reacted so quickly to say they weren't surprised...that they'd seen the divide..that they'd heard the complaints. He may just not have been a good personality fit for an MLB club...or for the people he was working with.

His absence from CSN negotiations going forward gives me some glimmer of hope....sometimes removing someone from the room helps negotiations, even if the substantive positions haven't changed.

So what does the president of a baseball team do anyway? I mean besides being a fan favorite what qualifies Biggio for the job?

Seems like a fluff position if they are asking Biggio to come in with no experience in the front office.
