GREAT idea! Let's dump 3/5 of the starting lineup of this young team that seems to be responding to their new coach and is currently on pace for a 53-win season. Makes perfect sense to me. Why bother to chill a bit and see how things shake out? Instead, we can just scrap the entire project and start over. Again. While we're at it, can we trade Van Gundy for Don Cheney? You know, just for the hell of it. </sarcasm>
Comon guys!!! A 13-7 record!!! Thats pitiful!!! What the hell is CD thinkin!!! TRADE EVEYONE EVEN CD!!! Play-offs this year with this team??? pfft!!!!! I DONT THINK SO!!!! I mean 53 wins is NO WHERE NEAR CLOSE TO GET 8TH SEED!!!! but i dont get why all this anylist people always put us at number 8 or higher in the power rankings??? I gues they are idiots too... Maybe we should trade em as well???
IF the Rockets continue to struggle with bone-headedness, I would explore the possiblity of a trade with the Heat. I would trade SF, Cato, MoT, and $$$ form the trade exception for Grant, Jones, Butler, and Wade. For the Heat they would get some much needed re-vitalization. An all-star, a capable 5, a capable low-post scorer, and some needed cap flexibility. Their starting line-up would be: SF R Butler Odom MoT Cato That could definitely be a play-offf team in the East next year, especially if the exxtra cap flexibility brought them an up grade at the 2, or a 1 and slide SF over. I think the reason SF would have to be traded is that his value is significantly higher than Mobelys. Plus, I think Cat gives you 90% of what SF does for half the money. For us we get 2 solid veteran players that could fill important roles with us. Both Grant and Jones have playoff experiemce, and are both good players. The only problem is that both are paid like they are "the man", and neither have that ability. However, both their salaires would come off the books when Yao and Butler were up for renewal. The prize for us is Butler and Wade. Starting line-up: Wade Mobely Jones Grant Yao 6th Man = JJ If needed we could put together a separate trade for a young 4, possibly a package of Mobley and Nachbar for a young 4. We have a LOT of depth at the 2/3, or hopefully EG puts his head on straight and we'll already have a talented young 4. This is just a thought I had a while ago. I think it helps both teams in the short and long runs, but if the Rocks continue to show marked improvement I would keep the core together and maybe add a piece here or there.
I think the best trade would be one of the assistant coaches for jim Cleamons from the Lakers... Better offensive input...
The Rockets traded to the eastern conferance. We might get home court through out the playoff if that happens
