WOW...can't believe the Cards are about to go home. I would have never guessed that the Dodgers without a healthy Billingsly would have swept the Cards with Capenter, Wainwright and Joel P.

Consider me pwned! Man, I really thought the Cards had all the makings of a World Series team.

You're not alone. A lot of people felt that their pitching gave them a very good chance, myself included. Even though their offense struggled down the stretch of the regular season, they still had the best hitter in the universe with added support in Holliday. Who knows how that series would've ended up without Holliday's blunder...

What a comeback by the Angels... can they finish it off now?

Were those the first ERs Papelbon has ever given up in the postseason?

It's over. Angels sweep. 5 ERs given up by Wagner and Papelbon in the 8th and 9th.

he had gone 27 scoreless postseason innings before tonight's collapse

I see one of three scenarios now: A SoCaL Freeway Series (LA v LAA), An East Coast Mafia Wars (Philly v NYY) or an old classic rivalry renewed (Yankees v Dodgers)

    Angels proved me wrong, today.

I thought they would come to Fenway Park and choke as usual, and lose the 5 game at home.

But, they hanged tough, down 5-1, came back at 6-5, and then Guerrero comes through in the 9th inning to make it 7-6 and they close the game out fairly easy on defense.

Although, they've beaten the Yankees, regularly in the regular season. It will be a very tough 7 game ALCS.

What is up with the playoffs this year?

Red Soxs, Twins, Cardinals choked and A-rod is actually doing good in post season.

that stigma is now gone, just like the Rockets first round futility and the chant of "1918" for the Red Sox.

yankees v. angels should be a great series. the winner will be the heavy favorite in the world series.
