With a day left it's time for everyone to put up their final mock drafts. Texans: #1(1) Reggie Bush RB USC #1(26-trade with Bears) Jonathan Joseph CB South Carolina - Texans have another South Carolina CB that they like in Dunta. It would be nice to pair these guys up. #3(65)Daryn Colledge OT Boise St. - A perfect fit for the zone blocking scheme and has the flexability to play OT or OG. Top 10: #1 Texans - Reggie Bush #2(trade) Raiders - Vince Young #3 Titans - Matt Leinart #4 Jets - Mario Williams #5 Packers - D'Brick Ferguson #6 49ers - Vernon Davis #7(trade) Saints - AJ Hawk #8 Bills - Winston Justice #9 Lions - Mike Huff #10 Cardinals - Jay Cutler
I'd be pretty pissed if CC traded the #33 and #66 to move up 7 spots. Top 10: 1. Texans-Reggie Bush: No explanation needed. 2. Saints-Mario Williams: D'Brick would be a good choice too. 3. Titans-Vince Young: At the end, its gonna be Bud that makes the choice. 4. Jets- Matt Leinart: Leinart falling to them is too good to pass up. 5. Packers-AJ Hawk: Type of defensive player they need. 6. 49ers- Vernon Davis: Smith needs help, Davis is a stud. 7. Raiders- Micheal Huff: Here's where it gets tricky, but Huff is bpa. 8. Bills-D'Brick: See explanation above. 9. Lions-Winston Justice: Could use a defensive player, but OL needs help 10. Cardinals- Jay Cutler: Replacement for Warner.
Better if we give up the first pick in the 4th to move up 7 spots. Value chart: Pick #26: 700 Pick #33: 580 Pick #65: 265 Pick #66: 260 Pick #97: 112 33+97 = 580+112 = 692 I'd be ok with that.
If Al jumps Bud (and I think - and hope -he will), then I see it playing out like this....except I think the Bills grab Ngata or whatever his name is.
I'm going to assume no trades: Top 10 1 Texans - Reggie Bush 2 Saints - D'Brickishaw Ferguson 3 Titans - Matt Leinart 4 Jets - Mario Williams 5 Packers - AJ Hawk 6 49ers - Vernon Davis 7 Raiders - Vince Young 8 Bills - Michael Huff 9 Lions - Brodrick Bunkley 10 Cardinals - Jay Cutler

i think casserly has little say about the draft. kubiak has a lot of say and mcnair gets the final call.

my mock draft for round 1 (w/explanations) and 2nd and 3rd picks for the texans 1. Houston – Reggie Bush RB (the best playmaker in the draft. kubiak will get bush about 20+ touches a game through from running, catching, and the return game) 2. New Orleans – Mario Williams DE (take the next julius peppers. People have eyeing b/c of his pass rush, run support, size and strength to play any D-line position. You can’t never have enough pass rushers and also charles grant is in his last year of his contract. 3. Tennessee – Vince Young QB (Floyd Reese must loving that he drops to him at number he’s a playmaker at the QB with his arm and legs. He has the “IT” factor which makes coaches intrigue. The titans must be the an offense around VY’s strengths.) 4. New York Jets – D-brick Ferguson LT (franchise LT, a better version of Matt Light. pro bowler for 10 years. Maybe the best footwork of a LT I have ever seen.) 5. Green Bay – A.J Hawk 4-3 SLB OR 3-4 ILB (the next urlacher, enough said) 6. San Francisco – Vernon Davis TE (Alex Smith needs more weapons and davis provides them the big threat. He could a faster version of Antonio Gates.) 7. Oakland – Matt Leinart QB (stays in the California who has Good arm but just great accuracy and touch on his throws. He’s the next Tom Brady in my opinon and that’s saying a lot) 8. Buffalo – Haloti Ngata 3-4 NT OR 4-3 DT (very strong player, going to be a great player if he can stay consistant with guidance of Dick Jauron. Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher can now make more plays with the line being clogged up.) 9. Detroit – Michael Huff CB/S (the best DB in the draft, he just makes plays. he's fast and can tackle the hell out of anyone. Huff has perfect size and enough intangibles to play in any DB position) 10. Arizona – Jay Cutler QB (great arm but needs to work on accuracy. He’s a tough kid and he’ll take the reigns of warner in his 3rd year) 11. St. Louis – Brodrick Buckley DT (very strong player, going to be a great player if he can stay consistent) 12. Cleveland – Kamberon Wimbley 3-4 OLB OR 4-3 DE (he’s a tough solid kid with nice pass rushing skills. He’s a bit raw in my opinion but he’s a great talent from FSU. His stock is rising.) 13. Baltimore – Winston Justice RT (he’ll start at RT and will move over to LT when Ogden retires. He’s a top talent at Tackle and he would be #1 Tackle if not D-brick. Baltimore’s line needs to fix up more to protect Boller and open more lanes for lewis and mike anderson.) 14. Philadelphia – Ernie Sims 4-3 WLB (a better version of Dexter Coakley, very athletic and instictive. he loves to deliver hits to anyone with the ball and strong enough to shed blockers. he could be a pro-bowl player in a couple of years. he's going to be a derrick brooks mole.) 15. Denver – Santoino Holmes (great speed, runs nice routes, another weapon for plummer to get to the super bowl. I think holmes should be the pick for the broncos who will guide them towards the ultimate prize) 16. Miami – Chad Jackson (nice WR with very nice speed. Miami needs another WR to help culpepper become what he was in 2004) 17. Minnesota – Chad Greenway 4-3 SLB (very good size at 6-4 and speed. i'm worried about him shedding blockers but he can tackle and blitz) 18. Dallas – Manny Lawson 3-4 LOLB OR 4-3 RDE (parcells wants to win now and wants a great 3-4 olb to pair with Ware.) 19. San Diego – Tye Hill CB (he’s a great CB with skills to handle pass and run. He’s going to be an Antoine Winfield/Ronde Barber type CB in the NFL) 20. Kansas City – Antonio Cromertie CB (the biggest boom or bust pick here. he has all the tools and body for a shutdown corner. He needs more experience and durability is an issue. He could be a Chris McAlister type corner) 21. New England – DeAngelo Williams RB (great RB for New England who has breakaway speed and catch the ball out of the backfield. he does have a lot of carries under his belt though. Tom Brady is thrilled not to throw for 4k yards again.) 22. San Francisco – Bobby Carpenter 4-3 SLB OR 3-4 OLB (49ers need Lb after Peterson and Carter left. Carpenter was overshadowed by Hawk but he has enough abilities and playmaking skills to hold his own. he's a great talent if he has a good coach b/c he doesn’t shed blockers well and doesn’t have good technique) 23. Tamba Bay – Jason Allen CB/S (i think he could be a great cover 2 safety or corner. he has enough athleticism and ability to play any DB position. he's a playmaker on the field but can he stay away from the injury bug) 24. Cincinnati – Jimmy Williams CB/S (they take this CB/S that has been dropping down the boards. They need a good nickelback and future CB after Tory James. Hopefully Marvin Lewis helps along to realize his potential) 25. New York Giants – Eric Winston LT – (great tackle and value at number 25. he could had been top 10 if weren’t his ACL injury. He has all the tools to be a franchise LT) 26. Chicago Bears – Sinorce Moss WR/PR (they badly need an infusion of speed on the Bears to pair with muhammed. He won’t be as good as moss but he’ll do just fine in the NFL.) 27. Carolina – Donte Whitner CB/FS (In the NFL, you need 3 good CBs and Whitner can fill in for Ricky Manning Jr., who departed to Chicago. Whitner was a great playmaker in that strong The Ohio State defense. He can has the flexibility that John Fox can utilize) 28. Jacksonville – Nick Mangold C/G (solid general at Center and very smart player. He could be a Jeff Saturday type player in the NFL. He distinguished how the defense/blitzes are showing/coming from. He can also play guard as well) 29. New York Jets – Laurence Maroney RB (a good replacement for the aging Curtis Martin. He’s a great RB and all-around player that Jets will like) 30. Indianapolis – Joesph Addai RB (they take a reach for need b/c of the departure of the EDGE. Addai could be the 2nd best RB after Bush if can stay healthy. He has nice all-around game that will make the colts don’t remember EDGE. 31. Seattle – Jonathan Joesph CB (Seattle needs another good CB to play alongside with Trufant. he has great potential with the right coaching. he doesnt have good technique and tends to gamble too much) 32. Pittsburgh. – Lendal White RB (well well, pittsburgh is praising its lucky stars with this guy fallen down the boards. A great replacement for the retired Bettis and provides a terrific complement with Fast Willie Parker) 33. Houston – DeMeco Ryans OLB/ILB (he’s doesn’t have great workout numbers but the dude is a great football player playing in that tough SEC conference. He has great instincts and heart to be very successful early and the rest of his career.) 65. Houston – Cedric Griffin CB/FS (can play CB or FS in the NFL. He was overshadowed at UT by a great defense. He can tackle and play great man-to-man coverage. Only negative is his speed which is 4.5 sub range) 66. Houston – Daryn Colledge LT/LG (Has excellent size and the frame to add even more weight...He was 4-year starter and very solid tackle....Has tremendous feet...Moves extremely well and gets to the second level. His pass protection is just awesome but run blocking could use some work. Perfect tackle for zone-blocking scheme in Houston)
