I think the reason Harden has been so dominant on offense recently is because he's slacking on defense again.
^I stated all those things even before the Smith signing. But they've been especially true since the Smith signing. It comes down to players. Because when the 3 I keep mentioning were not playing all those things that have been mentioned were different. Dwight gets the biggest pass out of the three because knee issues are no joke. The other two though... Eh.

Damning. We are not a good team right now. The constant bricking on offense and lack of effort on defense have killed us.
As a fan who wants to believe that this team can go all the way, I'm frustrated with these lapses. This has to be the lowest point this season to date. Maybe it's just a rough patch where they are trying to find themselves as a team but you can't get blown out like this and expect to win a championship. It's fairly obvious they need another player to provide instant offense and get the ball moving in half court sets so they can have more options and better looks. It's not too late but we're past the first quarter of the regular season and shouldn't be completely disappearing from games like this, injuries and other changes notwithstanding. On a positive note, tomorrow's another day and another game and hopefully another win. Time to bust this slump!
Is their something happening in the locker room that we might not know about? Something similar to the "Pacers" last year. Its really hard for die hard Rockets fans right now, esp those who have been defending pick-ups of Josh and the shooting woes of Ariza and Bev. I was really looking forward to this game, hoping that Josh "cancer" Smith would have a great defensive/energy game... Sad day to be a Rockets fan.
All three points you made goes to one issue, the absurd amount of Moridiots on this board who will run thru a brick wall to defend their idol. Once the rox go back on a winning streak against subpar competition, they will start chiming up again. Patrick Beverly was loved by a lot of folks because hes not Lin. Period. Their blimdimg hatred for the guy made them overlook the fact that beverly has no business seeing more than 15 minutes a game. Bev is a pg who cant shoot, cant pass, cant handle, cant create, and doesnt help on d because hes too busy with his stupid wolverine act of getting in the guys face. Same folks waste bodily fluids on dragic, they be like gorgi gorgi gorgi, why you leave me gorgi. Dude doesnt play d, has inflated stats bexause of the talent level arpund him, and yet these folks think hes the perfect fit for harden.
The team needs a reality check... Great transition team on paper... Great athletes... But too many one-dimensional players... Just because you can "get your shot off" doesn't mean you should... Ariza robbed us again... And Dwight is getting worse by the game... This team is about has championship talent with 1st round and out potential...
I have posted the need for a real pg about 3 years in a row now. Every offseason i suggest names of available veteran pgs that can be had. And every seaso. I get shouted down by moridiots who claim that He Who is Smarter Than You will find sime scrub on the cheap that can fill in adequately
