Post play is gonna go like mid range pull-ups. The guys who are really good at it will keep doing it while the scrubs and randos will be banned from it. No more obligatory Kendrick Perkins post up to keep him involved. It'll still be an elite tool in the right hands.

The foundation of the game will never fade away being they claim it was always a big mans league (feed the post) until recent three shot happy sensationalized era

Its why the ppg/apg/spg etc has remained since day one which has birthed the modern alphabet gang branches like PER/VORP etc so the modern world can feel like they are advancing something when they just piggy backed off the foundation(parent), children run amok extensions based on the same thing(numbers)

Just like alot of the hoopla right now is about so called 3 pt shooting big / stretch 4s when they had them back in earlier days and in Dreams era but they didn't shoot them as much being the game was more feed the post n mid range fundamentals

Alot of players today still post up but they just happen to pass it out for a open 3, similar to how some 3 on 1 fast breaks for layups/dunks are now sometimes subbed for players stopping at the 3pt line and chucking away a for sure 2pts

The balance of it is that back in Dreams era the 3pt shot was a wow factor (moment) more so because of that era style of play to where today the post up/mid range is the wow factor which is why. Derozan / Leonard / CP3 and others get such high praise for keeping said old school ball in todays mix

This wave is almost dead flat and the modern era of kids aren’t growing up learning the post game
