I'M SICK OF THE LIES AND EXCUSES FROM JALEN GREEN FANBOYS!!! We got off to a slow start in the 1st quarter. Klay Thompson and Quentin Grimes were cooking us in the 1st while Jalen looked timid as usual. It wasn't until Cam came in the game in the 2nd quarter that our offense picked up and the momentum changed to the Rockets. Like I said, we don't win tonight without Cam.
At the end of the day yes, Fred will do things that don't show up on the stat sheet like keeping turnovers low, organizing team defensive communication etc.
You are more exciting about dudes attacking closeouts from a already collapsed defense than splitting doubles with a live handle against point of attack defenses?
I get his frustration. He went off in the first half then doesn't get off the bench in a third quarter where Jalen goes 1 for 8 and Tate plays. Ime is a great coach but everyone being held accountable other than Jalen and I guess Fred is a sort of a weird dynamic with this team. With Fred though it's more there isn't another option. He needs to say this in the media a bit less overtly though.
A starter going 1-8 for a quarter doesn't make them get benched. Jalen plays consistently good defense that is up to Ime's standards and collapses defenses with his handle and sets up things like hockey assists from collapsing said defenses. His role exists beyond just shooting. Cam is a defensive gambler who does things you'd expect someone with tired legs to do while playing spot minutes. While Jalen plays 30-40 minutes every night and doesn't nearly gamble as much on defense and shows far more effort with a higher offensive usage role and a lot more minutes. \
Cam and Jalen are both streaky shooters. Jalen is just better at every other aspect of basketball also.
Won a game with a good performance, then showed up in the interview, with the face and sound like you just got benched the whole game plus the team lost badly? He really is just a kid...the management should be alerted and look into this before it affects the locker room.
Nah, Cam's the better player. He's done more with way less minutes than Jalen's ever done. That's facts.
THIS IS THE ATTITUDE YOU WANT TO SEE FROM AN ELITE PLAYER. You want an alpha player to say GIVE ME THE DAMN BALL! This is why he's the better player - his attitude. What did Jalen do when being force fed minutes under Silas? Rather than ball the **** out, he complained about a lack of structure.
Yeah he didn't see the court in the 3rd because the starters were building a lead. Most players would understand that a lineup is working and root their team on. Literally every other rocket player does this I guess but not Cam. There was a reason teams passed on him and I presume this was one. Bad attitudes will get you out of the NBA quick. The reason being is the coach is the general, if you have one player undermining the coach then others will as well. Ime now either has to talk to the team about Cam's comments privately or sit him to show the players he's in charge.
Not a good look but he's genuinely confused. I mentioned this numerous times, there's a big disconnect with players and coaches when it comes to expectations in the off-season and in season developing. Someone a long time ago should've said what he needed to work on. They'll rip Sengun a new one after every game if they could.
I ain't playing a bit. I'm serious. Cam needs more minutes. Our offense is **** with Jalen. Cam's special.
