What we disagree on is your dishonesty.

I think it's better to be a fundamentally honest person, you disagree.

Ime now : "I've heard what he said and I understand. You know I'm not a sensitive person when it comes to discussing things with all of our players. They're aware of what is expected of them. "

Reminds me of the episode when Eddie Winslow was caught with a stolen radio by his dad.

lol. I am going to get back to work, but keep being our resident internet douche. it is funny at this point. It is basketball and not life or death, so really no need to call everyone an idiot when they disagree with your Jalen worship.

Edit: You have posted 52K posts since 2010, an average of over 10 posts a day. I can see why you are the way you are. There is life outside of the BBS.

    Take care.

I think the hope at the time was some of the consistency, finishing, and defensive concerns for Jalen were because he was so thin and that he would have more success as he filled out a bit so he wouldn't get pushed out of the way by stronger players. It has helped his finishing a bit and his defense but yeah - it didn't prove to solve all his flags.

Similarly I want to give Cam time to grow but it's just a different context he walked into because there are 12+ guys on that roster today who you could say have earned the right to consistent playing time..when Jalen first got here - we were struggling to find 5 guys. That's why the decision to extend Jalen/Alpi when they did was puzzling because it limited the possibility of making that consolidation trade this year and without the consolidation trade, it's going to impact the development of someone - so far that's proving to be guys like Cam, Reed(who may not be ready anyway), Tate, and Landale. Hoping their right these wrongs this offseason because this has been a simmering problem for years now.

I've probably listened to Cam's postgame a dozen times, and the more I listen and the more carefully I listen, the more I'm inclined to give Cam the benefit of the doubt.

I think Cam took the term "consistent minutes" early in the interview to mean playing consistently in the minutes he got, and he disagreed, knowing his effort and decisions could have been better. Later, when asked if he had done enough to get more consistent minutes, he said, "No," and repeated it 3 times. This could have meant either more minutes or better play in the PT he got, but in either case Cam knows he has more work to do. I think he's both confused about what's expected and disappointed in his own reaction to the coaching he's received. He's probably disappointed in the lack of PT, too, but I doubt that's what his responses reflected. I'm with Vecenie on this one.

A vet should take Cam aside and coach him up on postgame interviews, as well as point out that almost nobody agrees with Ime's rotations, if that's what Cam was upset about.

Edited to say apparently Ime agrees.

Yeah man - the nerve of Jalen to violate the "bro code" of don't hump your friends(or at least say "no homo" while you do it) and only knock up super young women(very sus).

....if you think there is something wrong with Jalen because he paints his nails, it really means there is something wrong with you more so than him. Jalen's only problem is that he can't hit a jump shot. You don't have to like his lifestyle choices but it doesn't mean there isn't a good head on his shoulder just because you don't like his lifestyle - that's the way of racists, bigots, etc. ...and by the way a lot of younger guys from the city do the same things Jalen does - he's no different than many of his younger peers. It's just what the kids are doing these days.

When I made the OP last night, I found the interview to be very off putting. That being said, I was one of the very first people to really jump on Cam as a prospect, and I was definitely even advocating for picking him as high as #4.

Out of my 80 to 100 employees I have about 20 young kids like that. So as I thought about it more and more, I softened up quite a bit. He is clearly an introvert and media savvy yet.

He has played much better lately, but there are still some times that I am concerned with what I see on the floor. Mostly in his decision-making. There doesn’t seem to be a natural flow as far as him shifting from when to shoot and when to pass.

If his role on a team was to just be the main perimeter scorer, I think he would flourish much earlier. Considering he probably won’t have that role here at least in the immediate future there is still probably going to be some times where he struggles a bit with his decision-making.

since the preseason, I have been concerned about the long range shot. His form looked a lot different than it had last year. We will have to see if the improved percentage holds up. I definitely want him playing 20 minutes a game.

Hopefully it's all being blown out of proportion. Cam needs to understand that the Rockets relies on being a relentless torrent on defense to break opposing teams' will, so he can't be taking off plays on D and expect to have playing time. For '24-'25 his DBPM currently sits at -0.5, worst on the team (unless you count Jack McVeigh). That, plus his ridiculously low assists/assist %, makes him unplayable other than as a Hail Mary in Ime's system.

...would be cool if the fanbase wouldn't be so 'in their feelings' - thankfully the guy in charge gets it.

    It's the smart response.

I get what you're saying and personally I would have done that this season but I don't think the team is willing to risk a game or two. It's too much.

We can just teach him a lesson the standard way that works: internally Ime keeps him out of one game and pulls him when he messes up defensively or shoots too much. Sit him for defensive mistakes and shot selection.

I don't get what's the rush? We have 50 games left this season and he's 20. Stone doesn't have the actual power to tell Ime who to play imo.

Nah - that's not how Udoka is. He is tough and calls it like he sees it and that gets him into trouble with more emotional types because the truth can hurt(especially with the refs) but I believe he is much more of an analytical type of thinker - a T type in the Meyers Briggs with a dominant subtype. Probably an INTP or INTJ but he could be an ISTJ or ISTP - regardless, not a guy who takes things personally because he isn't a feeler.

    CW: OBPM 1.3 DBPM -0.5 BPM 0.7

also not sure his last 7 game 52.3 FG% 44.4 3FG% can be called Hail Mary

Cam's facial expression on and off the court is similar. Most of the time, it's expressionless, and you really can't read his emotions or tell what he's thinking.
